Our landscape designers will then produce a plan, adjusting the design per your suggestions. With over 20 years of experience, All Property Services has unparalleled knowledge in the field of hardscape and landscape design and construction.

"It took a long time to get the design but the designer did an excellent job. The contract for installation has an indemnity clause so if All Property gets sued for any reason you the homeowner have to pay for their lawyer and pay any judgment. Unlike virtually every contractor I have worked with, they will not protect you from suits brought by their employees against you. Also if they end up paying a worker’s compensation claim their insurance company has the right to sue you. It is one of those things that doesn’t happen often but you can lose your assets including your house if it does. All other contractors just added me to their policy and it did not cost them anything."

Pool Construction and Installation questions, answered by experts

Most importantly, you should never cut corners when building a pool. Whether it’s an in-ground or aboveground, poorly constructed pools are dangerous to both the swimmers and your property. Leaks can even lead to home foundation damage. While you can DIY smaller elements of pool installation, always hire a contractor to oversee the process.

Depending on your budget, wants, and needs, a pool enclosure can be a worthwhile investment. It all comes down to how much you use your pool, and what it would mean to you to have year-round access to it.

If you know that you'll swim in your pool a lot, then having an enclosure means you don't have to worry about the weather. It's also a lot easier to maintain the water, because you don't have to deal with leaves falling into the pool, and the water's chemical levels tend to be more stable.

A retaining wall can only function as a fence if it’s high enough on all sides to prevent someone from accidentally falling into the pool. However, most retaining walls retain dirt, which means their purpose is not related to safety. There would need to be nothing on the other side of the wall for it to be considered a fence, but in that case, it wouldn’t retain anything and would cease to be a retaining wall.

In most states, it is a legal requirement to have a fence around your pool. Laws vary by state and city, so check with your state and local government for regulations specific to you. Additionally, most homeowners' insurance providers will require some type of fence surrounding a residential pool before they provide coverage.

When designing your dream pool, it's important to leave enough room for safe walkways, patios, and extras such as outdoor kitchens and fire pits. Your local building codes may specify the minimum space between your pool and your house, utility lines, and property line. In most cases, the area of the patio around the pool should be equal to or greater than the surface area of the pool.
