"Don and Carol came out and priced the entire bathroom. The scope was reduced and Don re-estimated. Project Scope: New Bathtub and Remove/Replace Ceramic Floor Tile. Ken did work; I was not present to interface with Ken, but Don was available to report progress/ask questions daily. Final Outcome: Excellent."

"We've had experience with renovations in the past, and this was by far our best experience. Frank was transparent and good at communicating. We stayed completely on budget (aside from a few things we added at the end), and the timeline for the most part was met as promised. (We were aiming to be done by Christmas, and aside from the cabinet crown molding and 4 drawer faces, everything was done). Chris, whom did most of the work in our kitchen, was fantastic. Personable, great workmanship, and provided suggestions and input based on his experience. Frank and Chris were also very easy to work with as we wanted to own some of the design elements but needed the helping installing them - i.e. farmhouse sink, backsplash, lights, island design, etc. Frank and Chris were clear about the specs that needed to be met, we purchased the items, and then they installed/built them. It was an easy partnership, and we would work with G&G Kitchen and Bath Restoration again."

"I take a lot of pride in my home, and as a fur mom, I need spaces that are both beautiful and practical. My bathroom was starting to feel outdated, so I decided it was time to upgrade the bathtub and replace the old fixtures. Century City Baths made the entire experience easy and enjoyable. The installation team was professional, respectful, and meticulous. They kept everything clean throughout the project and paid close attention to every detail. The new bathtub is comfortable and beautiful, while the updated fixtures instantly made the bathroom feel more polished and refreshed. Century City Baths transformed my bathroom into a space that feels stylish, comfortable, and perfectly suited to my lifestyle. I couldn't be happier with the result."

"I love my new bathroom! Jack's team did an amazing job on my bathroom and laundry room and because I was so happy with their work, I added on additional small jobs along the way. The main review is for the bathroom though. Jack gave me the original estimate; the plan was to replace everything: tub, toilet, vanity, sink, mirror and all fixtures. The price was very reasonable. Jack came out to go over all the measurements with me and give me all the specifications I needed for ordering my materials. This made it very easy for me to make sure I didn't order something that wasn't right for the space. I then picked out and ordered everything I wanted and spent time making sure it all fit with the look I wanted. Once I received all my deliveries, I called Jack and he set up a day to start which we had already sort of planned at the beginning of the process. I knew the longest delivery time would be about 4 weeks, so that's what we planned on.  The first day was demolition. The next couple days were installation and plumbing, then the tile, then the finishes. I can't say enough how beautiful the entire bathroom looks. The tile work is perfect. Michael did an amazing job and consulted me if he had any questions about design. Paul did such a great job with installing everything, and this may sound silly, but even the caulk looks so nice, mainly because it is clear caulk and virtually invisible. The walls were prepared completely beforehand and I think it makes a real difference then with the end product. I ordered the vanity from a big box store with added panels and molding so it could be customized to fit against the wall and Paul did a great job of cutting everything to size and working with the materials. It looks custom made for the space.  The only hitch in the completion was my fault, as I forgot to call the wallpaperer to come out, so we had to wait a few days before it was all complete. But if that hadn't happened I know it would have all been done in the one week Jack had originally quoted.  Every day the guys came early or on time. At the end of every day, they would completely clean up and then tell me the plan for the next day. If there was ever more than one way to do/place something, they would ask me how I wanted it first. They were so polite and pleasant to work with. I have no reservations recommending them or hiring them for my next project!"

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Installing a drop-in tub yourself is possible, especially if you’re replacing your existing tub with a new one of the same size. If you’re replacing a different type of tub, you’ll need to build the structure to hold the new drop-in tub and finish the exposed sides. The structure must be sturdy enough to hold the tub when it’s filled with water, and you’ll need to seal it. If any plumbing work is required, it’s best to call a licensed plumber who installs bathtubs.

Persistent leaks, outdated styles, or surface damage are indicators for a replacement.

The water supply lines run underneath the bathtub. These two pipes deliver cold and hot water to the bathtub—the cold water comes from the main water supply, and the hot water comes from the water heater. The pipes are made from copper, cream-colored plastic CPVC, or red and blue PEX tubing.

If you don’t caulk your bathtub, then there won’t be a watertight seal between your bathtub and the wall tile surrounding it. As a result, water can seep into the wall and the floor and cause the perfect breeding grounds for mold and mildew. Not only does this require costly repairs, but mold can be harmful to those breathing it.

Alcove tubs come in fiberglass, acrylic, or enameled steel. Fiberglass is the most affordable but least durable, while acrylic is the highest-end and most durable (as long as you don’t go with a poor grade of acrylic, which will be prone to scratches). Enameled steel, where a steel tub is coated in a layer of porcelain, is a wallet-friendly middle ground. This material is highly durable but prone to chips.
