"Requesting a quote from and then hiring Illinois Tree Service was quick and easy. Their quote was the same as another large operation in town, but they didn't need to bring massive equipment into the yard as the other company had in the past. A large crew of men worked safely and efficiently for about six to seven hours to remove both old cottonwoods and grind their stumps. They cleaned up beautifully as they worked and left the yard free of sticks and branches. I would highly recommend them."

"Jorge did a fantastic job on my trees. It was a big job. His communication and follow thru were both excellent. Hard worker and went the extra mile on trimming the trees. He arrive early and was there all day until the job was done and cleaned up. Once he left everything was back in its place and yard was spotless. I highly recommend Cedar V. Best value you find."

"If you're looking for one of the best tree services. You don't have to look any further. I was overwhelmed from start to finish. From the first they sent a man out to give me a proposal, and they came back with an outstanding contract that I couldn't pass by. They came on time with a team of men that the only time they stopped was to take their lunch, and went right back to finish the job. I have to tell you I was completely satisfied . Everything they said would be done was completed . I can recommend Precision Tree Works without thinking twice. Just ask for Steve . He will help you from start to finish, and you'll be totally satisfied with everything. I will need more work done in the near future, and the only service I'd ever depend on doing the job right is, and will be Precision Tree Works ! These men are the most professional tree service . I can't say enough about them. If you're looking for a tree service from a small job to a big job such as mine was. Give Precision Tree Works a call . You won't be disapointed. And like I said ask for Steve.........."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Dead trees are dangerous for several reasons. They are structurally compromised and prone to branch or trunk failure, which can pose a significant safety risk to people, vehicles, and nearby structures. Dead trees can also harbor pests like termites, which may spread to other trees or your home. If a tree died from a disease, it could spread the illness to healthy trees. Additionally, the dry wood is highly flammable, increasing fire risk.

It takes anywhere from three to seven years for a stump to decompose on its own. This timeframe can depend on the kind of tree and your climate. The lower to the ground the stump is, the faster it rots. If you kill a tree stump with salt, boiling water, herbicide, light deprivation, or burning, the tree stump decomposes faster.

Bleach can potentially kill some types of delicate ornamental trees, but for the most part, it will only kill the foliage it comes in contact with. Applying bleach is not an effective method of killing a tree. A better option is to use an herbicide, which is a chemical compound designed to effectively kill a tree.

Talking with a septic pro before planting trees near your tank is best to ensure the roots won’t interfere with your septic system. However, there is an easy way to figure out where to plant a tree—but you’ll need to know how tall it can get when it’s fully grown. For instance, if the tree can reach 50 feet, plant it at least 50 feet from your septic system.

Poison oak is similar to poison ivy in that it's in the same family of plants. Poison oak is identifiable by its rounded-off leaves and hairy leaf texture. Tree-climbing varieties live primarily in western states while low-growing poison oak bushes occupy the eastern states. Treat poison oak like poison ivy to get rid of it permanently.
