"He and his crew did a demo for me and they cleaned it all up and hauled it away, raked the dirt and promised to bring me more dirt soon so I can plant grass in this spot in my backyard. They repaired my fence and added privacy panels to it with a new privacy gate. They did a very professional job. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a professional job at a reasonable price."

"AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Here is a list so you can read everything we’ve been through with this company. Spent over $11,000 in 2020 to have interior drain tile and a landing drain connected to a new sump pump Had water enter through the doorway by the drain 3 times since 2020, with the most water coming inside September of 2022 Called Safeguard in September 2022. Safeguard refused to even check the system, sent us a quote for $1,800 more work to “fix us up” without even checking anything on our property Had a 3rd party company out to inspect the drain that Safeguard refused to check. Discovered they breached our contract and connected the drain to village stormwater tiling without our consent or the consent of the village. Have never received as much as an apology. Instead, Safeguard blamed us saying the drain was clogged with leaves, and that is why we flooded. This was disproved by Roto-Rooter. Update as of 3/3/2023 AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Here is a list so you can read everything we’ve been through with this company. Spent over $10,800 in 2020 to have interior drain tile and a landing drain connected to a new sump pump. Instead, Safeguard blamed us saying the drain was clogged with leaves, and that is why we flooded. This was disproved by Roto-Rooter. The company refused to fix anything and did not respond to requests until I submitted a formal complaint on the BBB website exposing the breach of contract Have spent months (5) trying to come to an agreement we are comfortable with in order to have them out to fix the work. They do say they will repair the work for free, BUT… They tried to get us to waive their liability should the village fine us for the stormwater connection. There will be NO WARRANTY of this free work. So, if the concrete starts breaking a few months after the fix, they’re not liable. They claim they did not connect the drain incorrectly, and they are doing this fix to appease us (even though I have my contact that clearly states what was to be done, and a signed letter from the president stating that they did in fact do something else). As a result, we asked for a simple 1 year work and materials warranty just to ease our fears about something breaking in the future. Their response- WE WILL NOT ALTER THIS CONTRACT. Bob, John and Karen have been nothing but awful to work with. They are argumentative at best. The amount of times sarcasm and ALL CAPS have been used in emails by Karen, as well as the amount of times my husband has been screamed at over the phone or in person by Bob and John are immeasurable. As soon as you write them a check and they finish the work, they’re done. Even if they blatantly breach your contract (like with us), or the work is faulty, I believe they will not fix or stand by anything. They claim they have one of the strongest warranties in the business- I assure you this is a lie. If they do work and it never breaks, consider yourself lucky, because if something goes wrong they will not help you in any way shape or form to solve the problem, in my opinion. Instead, they will blame you as the customer and ignore you until you become too loud to ignore. Do yourself a favor, spend a little bit more money and go somewhere else that actually backs up their work and treats their consumers well. This is not that place. RUN AWAY. Concrete Ink originated in 2011 with a vision of providing concrete flooring solutions for residential customers. We began our foray into the decorative concrete flooring business with the coloring (acid staining), and polishing of existing residential concrete basement floors. Creating an artful finished floor solution out of the existing 4″ thick concrete substrate proved to be a perfect marriage of utility and beauty. Since that time, we have been installing, training and broadening our scope of efforts to include retail, commercial and industrial flooring solutions for our clients. The positive feedback and increased demand for our residential work validated our original premise, and opened our eyes to the infinite creative possibilities within our industry. Over the years, we have focused on honing our skills by seeking out and training with the best instructors and installers in our industry. Our continued commitment to expanding our knowledge has sent us to California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Utah. Our client base now reaches across the United States, and we are proud of our reputation and results. We look forward to working with you soon! Contact us today for a FREE estimate

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

Yes, sustainable mixes and sealants minimize environmental impact.

Yes—as long as the area has been properly prepped. Different self-leveling brands and compounds have their own specific instructions for preparation; some may require that you add primer or grind the surface. Without proper preparation of the surface, the compound will not be able to fully bond to the concrete and fill the cure as a separate layer, which makes it prone to chipping.

Minor hairline cracks in your concrete may not look pretty, but they’re often not serious. It’s when concrete cracks are larger—wide enough that you can slide a credit card into it—that you need to worry. If you monitor a crack and can trace its active expansion over time, you’ll definitely want to call in a pro to inspect it and, potentially, repair it. Want to prevent cracks in your garage and driveway concrete in the future? Stay on top of sealing. Here’s how to seal your concrete garage floor and driveway.

You may want to hire a concrete floor contractor to check out your home’s concrete surfaces or inspect your home’s foundation for minor damages that they can fix while on site. They may be able to fix cracks in your driveway or garage floor the same day they fix your concrete steps, as well. General concrete repair experts usually won’t be able to handle larger jobs, like leveling a sunken foundation, so you’ll need to hire a structural engineer for bigger projects.

How often you should resurface your pool deck depends on its material and condition. Concrete pool decks should be resurfaced every two to five years. Decks that are exposed to harsh heat and UV light may need to be sealed more often than ones that are mostly shaded.
