"The sill plate was the only thing completed. The bifold doors have fallen down 1 week later. He had no idea how to replace the door frame. We will have to hire someone else to complete the project. He couldn't figure out how to repair the lock. He had given us a quote for all the projects. He asked for additional money after spending 2 days trying to install the bifold doors. We paid the extra and he still told me he was "losing his *** on this job". He has a fancy website and a fancy business card. He has totally misrepresented himself. We paid him the quoted amount and asked him to leave when it was clear he was not able to reframe the door."

Customers say: Terrific value

Mac Exterior is a small family owned company who trives in costumer satisfaction because if our costumer is happy means more bissness for us. Anything we do, we do it to 100% until satisfactory from both home owner and ourselves. We specialize in roofing threw out the year but when interior repairs and remodels come to play. We can handle it. From demolition and clean outs wich we make easy with our haul away dump trailers on fleet. To complete reframe, insulation, mold treatments, drywall, tile , and any other home and finish work. We also handle commercial and are able to pull our required city permits if need to. Pluming and electrical is on our list as well. Not to mention all Exterior work from gutter cleaning to complete roof replacements. Just ask. Were here to help. And our prices our extremely fair. Call us for a free estimate. we are licensed and insured upon request. You won't be disappointed.

"Very poor communication, everthing was done via messages including proposal. This company actually sub contracted the work to another contractor who said the same thing about Mac's communication about the work. counters had no edging ,so they had to come back out and remove the countertops to trim/shave them in the front lawn. Sink was put in but that was it. I was told all plumbing would be included yet there were no strainers installed nor drain piping. i wound up having to finish the job up myself. I saved about $1k but had i known it was going to be such a nightmare i would have gladly paid more, as the saying goes "You get what u pay for" I will never refer this company to anyone!!!!!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

When a backflow valve fails, wastewater will flow back into your system, contaminating your drinking water. You’ll immediately notice backflow valve failure from a rotten smell and brown water coming from faucets. Get in contact with a septic pro or a plumber immediately if you suspect this has happened to you.

You don’t need to remove sediment from your water well. Sediment in your water well is normal. The problem is when the sediment enters your water supply. In this case, look into your pump. The size and placement of your pump can lead to sediment in your water. If it’s too big, it’ll overwork and stir up the sediment at the bottom, pulling it into the pump. If it’s too low, it will pull up the sediment that’s settled at the bottom. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends annual well maintenance to check and test for cleanliness, mechanical problems, and contaminants.

In the warmer months, it’s fine to leave your garden hose attached to your spigot. However, before the first frost of the year, make sure to disconnect your hose from your outdoor faucet and drain any leftover water inside. Otherwise, water could freeze in the hose and potentially burst inside your faucet or pipes.

Pot fillers are often outfitted with cold water only. When you need water for boiling, always choose cold water because hot water may contain more dissolved minerals from the pipe, offsetting the flavor of the food. In kitchens where the filler is used often, it may make sense to route hot water too, but this is rare, and even professional kitchens seldom have this option installed.

When water stops flowing from your outdoor spigot, always begin by making sure it's been opened for the season. Winterized hose bibs need to be turned back on from the indoor water source in the spring. Other culprits when fixing an outdoor water spigot include:

  • Debris blocking the pipe

  • Broken washer

  • Loose and leaking packing nut

  • Issues with your home's water supply

Call a local plumber if you are not able to find the issue by opening the water valve or checking the washer and packing nut. There could be a problem further up the pipe that needs attention.
