"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"Josh and Scott Lemmon bid our kitchen remodel (new granite countertop; tile backsplash; cabinet doors and drawers, including adding a microwave above our new range, modifying 2 cabinets, and adding 2 cabinets; and painting walls) at a very reasonable price and for the timeframe we requested. Scott gave us a budget for sink, knobs, pulls, and tile, which we met. Josh managed the project and ensured that the granite, which we got from R&J, went in first, while the cabinets were being made. When Josh and Scott arrived to focus on our project, they told us we would be working without a kitchen for 2 weeks only. They moved our new refrigerator into the dining room with an air-lift that worked like a charm. The matching stove and dishwasher were also moved to the dining room, and the kitchen was walled off with clear vinyl with a zippered access to keep dust from affecting the non-involved parts of the house. It worked! Scott completed the wiring, and Josh did the tile backsplash and painting. Josh's craftsmanship is beautiful in every detail. He is a true artisan. We were thrilled with every aspect of the project, including the on-time completion date. We LOVE our new kitchen! We highly recommend JT Flooring for your remodel!"

"He was very accommodating on the time frame, and was there at exactly the right time. He and his assistant were efficient, did their job and cleaned up. I would definitely recommend him. In fact, he's giving me an estimate tomorrow on carpet stretching in my own home."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Flooring transition strips can be secured to the subfloor using glue, nails, or screws. For a more secure installation, especially in high-traffic areas, using screws or nails is recommended as it reduces the risk of slippage. However, if aesthetic appeal is a priority, glue provides a cleaner, more seamless finish without any visible holes or screw heads.

The toilet flange anchors to the subfloor, usually with wood screws or cement screws, but most of it should sit above floor level at full height. When a flange is flush with the subfloor or below it, it can lead to the creation of leak paths.

Squeaking floors don’t usually pose an immediate safety risk. It can be the result of normal settlement, changes in humidity, or natural wear. Uneven or warped floors do pose a trip risk, so you should call a pro for a repair. This is especially true if you notice visible signs of rot or deterioration. Rarely, a creaking floor can signal structural issues, but there are usually other signs.

While carpet over carpet may provide some additional insulation and soundproofing benefits, it's not as effective as other methods. Layering carpets can add a modest buffer against noise and temperature fluctuations, but it's limited compared to installing thicker carpet padding or using specialized soundproofing materials. For optimal floor insulation and soundproofing, consider alternative solutions tailored to your specific needs and budget, such as adding additional padding or soundproofing underlayments beneath the carpet.

Yes. Many manufacturers make stair treads that you can install over carpeted stairs without needing to do any cutting or drilling. Stair treads can also be installed on wood, marble, and other stair surface materials. Just be sure to double-check the information for the specific product you’re buying to ensure its adhesive or installation process will work with the type of stairs you have.
