KARTCHNER - KING OF GASLIGHTING AND CRAPY QUALITY When I say I was shocked to see such high reviews when I looked up Kartchner I was SHOCKED. This company is a joke and gaslights their way around. The quality is crap!! Yes, they come with a two year warranty (might have changed by now) but they “fix” with the same crappy quality and the job never gets done right. Everyone I know has had to use their warranty of something. The lowest quality floors that scratch from everything on unlevel floors. I’ve had to start the process of looking around for help because these floors are not it and need to be re leveled. Carbon monoxide issues! Water damage that they refuse to fix and even check. First guy told me to paint over it and second wouldn’t check the baseboard. Only will check the shower after I reseal it. Finger prints in paint and paint drips. Grout cracked within months in main shower. Caulk is nonexistent around the whole house. Even the kitchen cabinets are poor quality. They chip so easily and the paneling has come apart. They said they couldn’t replace because their cabinet people don’t warranty them. Even though I actually got a guy to agree that shouldn’t have happened. Exterior siding issues that they said they would fix but never did. Shower that doesn’t work and on me cause we don’t use this shower so I didn’t know before the warranty was up. Floors that came with such bad scratches that I didn’t even know I could have had fixed because I swear they prey on first time homebuyers. We have had at least three doors that don’t shut! Like for real the list can go on and on. Also, don’t listen when they tell you to wait for certain things till the end of your warranty. They do that so they can do a poor fix and won’t have to come back and refix it.

The initial contact was very positive, it wasn't until we closed that things went down hill. Due to engineering flaws in the design of the home, they have been performing warranty work on my home for almost 5 years now. Some issues, such as a basement door that leaks, have not been resolved. At closing in the final walk through, we noticed all the things they left out that other contractors would have included in the home. The heat runs in the basement were not done, (they could have communicated that they did not sub contract this and gave an option to have it done) the grading in the yard is horrible. The lowest quality back fill was brought in and was mostly rock. After 5 years and 6 patch jobs on my interior drywall, it looks terrible. It will never be right. They put a storm door on the basement door but the original problem still exists. The door is just a band aid. Growing and maintaining a lawn has become a nightmare, even after the 12 yards of dirt I brought in. The fence had to be redone and the sub who built my deck cut corners with the number of screws he used so my TREX deck is actually warping. Trex does not warp. We had to spend $3000 on a gas stove in the formal living room to maintain temperature because the GFA did not support this room and the floor plan could not house duct work.

I would give them an A overall.
