He is incredible at tile work, Sheetrock, mud, taping, lath and plaster repair, texturing, framing, flooring, millwork, concrete… the only thing he didn’t tackle for us was electrical and plumbing. He cleans up after himself, puts tools away, and leaves the space put back together. I kept him employed for so long and kept giving him work because he did such good work. "You should probably add 4-6 weeks to the expected delivery date if you expect to need the "enclosed" hardware. I received the blinds in the estimated time, but it came without the required hardware. I have made 4 calls (at least) over several weeks, but the hardware is nowhere in site. It is clear that SelectBlinds.com is a marketing company only has outsourced all production and fulfillment to third parties and evidently has a difficult time coordinating these type of customer service issue. Extremely frustrating that my blinds have been sitting in the floor for over a month and all I need is a few screws. Happy to go to Home Depot to get the screws, but SelectBlinds can't even tell me what sizes I need."

When comparing impact windows vs. hurricane shutters, it’s important to consider the protection and installation details to determine the right choice for you. For constant protection against storms and flying debris, impact windows are a better option than hurricane shutters, especially if you don’t want to install shutters that will change the look of your house. However, impact windows are more costly than hurricane shutters. If you want a budget-friendly option that’s still protective against storms, hurricane shutters are a solid option. 

To keep cold out, look for treatments that sit close to the window frame and are made from thick, insulating materials. Thermal curtains, cellular shades, window quilts, and insulated shutters can all help retain heat. Layering window treatments, like pairing lined curtains with cellular shades, can provide even better insulation by further reducing drafts and heat transfer.

Mulled windows are no less efficient than individual windows, provided the wall opening is the same size. Larger wall openings filled with glass will always reduce overall energy efficiency, as glass transmits heat more readily than a solid wall. If the windows that are mulled together have the same square footage as individual windows, you might actually see a small decrease in your electric bills, as mulled windows let in more natural light that can reduce interior lighting costs.
