"I hired Yvan Lagunas and his company Lagunas Painting to paint the entire interior of a home I purchased in Meridian Idaho. They did an exceptional job. All walls, trim, closets and patch/ repair areas were painted. Crew was meticulous, prompt and nice. I hired them 6 months later to patch, repair, texture and paint a large bathroom remodel. They worked very well with the other subs and fixed items along the way- as needed. Yvan kept things rolling during the project and was professional in explaining things. I highly recommend Lagunas Painting."

"We hired AKAL construction llc (aka ASV cabinets) to install cement board type siding on our house beacuse they were the most competitively priced. Sometimes when you go with the lowest bid, you "get what you pay for". But these guys were TOP NOTCH! They were on time, communicative, and worked fast and hard, and cleaned up everyday that they were here! They were also patient and understanding with change orders and material shortages. We will definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to anyone looking for siding or any other trade work."

"January 2024 RJH construction painted our kitchen cabinets and repainted our pantry door. They were very thorough and professional. They cleaned up the area really well each day and at the end of the project. We are really pleased with the results. We also hired RJ in 2019 to refinish our outside columns. The columns turned out amazing."

"Dean and his crew with Desert Sage are fantastic, honest, and of super awesome character. I trusted to leave them at my house for several days to get out of their hair and to decrease the stress on my dogs. They were very respectful of my brand new floors. The job they did is absolutely beautiful of repainting my cabinets in kitchen and bathroom. its absolutely flawless. I found his prices were within my budget and allowed me to do this project that I thought was completely out of reach. I had a couple of areas where I was completely missing toe kicks, and pieces of the side of cabinets and an area where I kept getting pinched from an old fashion cutting board that I just wanted to be gone, Dean completely filled all of that in, in a very short period of time and charged very reasonably for the extra part of the painting project as well. They were on time and communicative about plans and scheduling, which is very important to me. Dean and his entire crew were also very friendly and enjoyable to chat with. I also had him add Hardware, which was perfectly done. Finally, I had a few cabinets that were so terrible beforehand. I was afraid I would need to completely replace the doors and he assured me he could fix them, and that it was not a necessary cost for me to buy new before having him paint those as well I have had several projects and many companies in this house over the last year and a half and most of those companies I would never hire again. I would hire Dean and his guys to come back over any day of the week and twice on Sunday for a future project"

FAQs for closet service projects in Kuna, ID

Building a custom closet costs about $2,000, on average. Because many types, sizes, and designs are available, the cost to build custom closets ranges from $250 to $6,000 or more. A reach-in closet is on the lower end of the price range from about $250 to $1,500, compared to a walk-in closet at $750 to $3,500 or a wardrobe at the high end between $1,500 and $6,000 or more.

The main difference between a closet and a wardrobe is that a closet is a separate room for general storage with its own door, and a wardrobe can be either built-in or freestanding place to store clothing. A walk-in or reach-in closet connected to a bedroom often serves the same purpose as a wardrobe by primarily storing clothes and shoes. A built-in wardrobe often does not have doors and leaves clothes exposed to view, whereas a standalone wardrobe usually has doors.

You may need a building permit to add a closet, depending on the size and kind of work required to install it. The most likely scenario requiring a permit involves changing the structure of the house and performing electrical work for closet lighting. A permit can cost between $100 and $450. If you’re installing a smaller reach-in closet, a permit may not be required, but always check with your local municipality and consult a closet designer or builder.

Different types of closets are defined mostly by size. A few different types of closets include:

  • A reach-in closet is a smaller closet that you can stand in front of and reach everything inside it. Aside from the size, the doors and the level of drywall finish are typically the largest price factors.

  • A walk-in closet can be anything from a small 5-by-5 feet closet that has a narrow walkway with shelves on both sides to a 100 square foot bedroom-sized closet with shelving along the walls and plenty of room to move around in.

  • A built-in wardrobe often does not have a door and leaves the clothes and other contents open to the room, whereas a closet usually has a door to separate it from the rest of the room.

Yes, building a custom closet can definitely add value to your home. Creating a more useful and pleasing space to your home, especially a custom closet for prospective home buyers to imagine as their own, is likely to increase the value. However, avoid overdoing it with a closet that takes up too much space that’s otherwise more useful as living space, or paying extra for overly lavish materials and finishes that aren’t likely to add more value than they cost.
