"Jeff is an amazing craftsman. We have a 127-year-old house. We don’t think any real work has ever been done to the foundation. He came in when we had a big leak after a snowfall. His solution was innovative and effective. We ended up using it throughout the basement! Great work, Jeff!"

"Rockhard concrete did a professional job and had very good rates. We poured a driveway w/approach on one side of the property and a large work area with a patio on the other. Extremely happy with our decision to go with Rockhard concrete."

"We’ve had a lot of crews in our home for various projects over the years, and I have to say this was one of the most courteous. They worked hard, navigating through our kitchen to access the basement and I really appreciated their efforts. Thank you MTU, we now have safe walls in our cellar and fresh beams to keep the house standing ;)"

"I always am overly descriptive and upfront about all details and any job that we are looking to do on our own or request professional service. There phone service gal was very knowledgeable, as well as the consult/service man they sent to look at the project. However, I specifically stated "crawl space " under house needs repair, & small entry area etc. And they sent the tallest & largest man that worked there to inspect the job. He was here not even 15 min & said oh ya I guess I won't be able to fit down there you think? My husband said ya, no way small crawl space, small opening. And then asked if we could take pics If he(my husband) could fit down there to see. Or we could wait a little further down the line and they could be able to send a smaller person with a different appointment down to take pictures for an estimate."

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.

The method involves lifting settled concrete using pressurized cement slurry via drilled holes. This solves uneven surfaces and prevents further settling.

A sinking foundation can be lifted, most often by installing piers to re-level and support the weight of the house. Depending on the cause and extent of the sinking, other methods to lift a foundation include underpinning and mudjacking. Consult a foundation repair pro to determine the best way to lift your sinking foundation.

The polyurethane used for polyjacking will expand and cure in 15 to 30 minutes. After that point, your slab will be safe to walk on and even drive on in the case of a sidewalk or concrete driveway. Double-check with your concrete lifting specialist to confirm a curing timeline, as products can differ.

Yes, you can mudjack cracked concrete, but the cracks will need to be repaired once the concrete has been leveled. If the concrete is severely cracked in multiple places, replacement may be a better option, but for less severe cracking, mudjacking is a good solution as long as cracks are correctly caulked and sealed.
