We offer the following services: Drywall & Plaster. Every job gets done right, give us a call or text today for a free estimate, on time "every time"!. Licenced & Insured. Locally owned.

"Aldin and his father are fantastic. Aldin came over on time for the estimate. He was very courteous, polite and knowledgeable . American Drywall and Plasters estimate was by far better then any of the other estimates I received. They showed up on time and ready to work. They are very efficient and good at what they do. Everyone estimated the job to take 4 or 5 days. Aldin and Dino finished in two. Their work is flawless. I will without any hesitation recommend them to my friends and family. They are top notch and do an excellent job. Another thing that was great about Aldin is he always kept me informed of the progress and where they were at in the project."

CGI is a full service general contractor. Although we can manage your entire project, we are a small company that works one job at a time. CGI is able to perform many types of work in-house, so we keep sub-contracting to a minimum.

The best way to make long, straight cuts is to use a utility knife and a T-square to score the sheet, snap along the score, and then finish the cut by cutting through the paper on the opposite side with the utility knife. If you’re making small cuts, curved cuts, or cutouts for electrical boxes or light fixtures, you can use a manual jab saw to keep costs down, but an electric spiral saw or oscillating multi-tool will get the cleanest, fastest cuts possible.

It is more difficult to drywall a ceiling than it is to drywall a wall, but not so hard that DIYers can’t tackle it. One of the main issues with hanging drywall on your ceiling is getting it into place. Drywall isn’t light so, if you are hanging full drywall panels, you will need at least two (it’s better with more) people to hold the panel while you drill it into the ceiling as a single piece can weigh between 40 and 60 pounds and will need to be held in place for up to 10 minutes.

Yes, 1/2-inch thick drywall is commonly used for ceilings in residential construction. It provides adequate support and is easier to handle and install compared to thicker drywall sheets. Thicker drywall, such as 5/8-inch, is typically used for ceilings in commercial buildings or areas requiring additional fire resistance or soundproofing. However, for most standard residential applications, 1/2-inch drywall is sufficient and widely accepted.

You should leave a gap between drywall sheets because they naturally expand and contract along with the building framing as temperature and humidity change. Most pro drywall installers leave a gap of about ⅛ inch between drywall sheets, allowing the sheets to expand, contract, and shift without cracking or becoming damaged. If you don’t leave enough gaps between slabs, the edges will press against each other when they expand, and the pressure can cause visible cracks.

In most cases, walls don’t have to be removed to rewire a house. Much of the new wiring can be run through attics and crawlspaces, and then electricians often use a tool called fish tape to pull the cables through the walls via cut access points that can be easily patched up without requiring any major demo work.
