Customers say: Quick response

"They were so very neat, I never had to clean up a thing. Jay gave me a bid and I added some tile work and they repaired it, so the bid actually came in less than it was suppose to be. Very honest company. You do not have to worry if you leave them alone in your house."

"Great ! Owner Tim came out and did an emergency tarp -- in the rain, as my BR ceiling was leaking. Jan ( office manager ) worked with my insurance until the bid & repairs were enough to give me a great outcome. Their repair guy was professional, friendly and did a good job. I would not hesitate to use them again & to recommend them !"

"Team of three fantastic painters arrived on time and ready to work. They painted the entire finished basement of my home which includes a very large room, and ceiling, a large bedroom and a bathroom and the stairwell leading to the main upstairs living area--in one day. They were very meticulous, explained every step of the process, and they cleaned up very carefully. They didn't make any messes, really, because they used drop cloths quite effectively. On day two, the trio arrived on time and got right to work, and they finished the job on day two! Amazing considering day two included the kitchen, the family room, two bathrooms and three bedrooms--two coats on all, and the result is truly amazing. I'll hire Cutting Edge Painting if I ever need painting again, will recommend them to my family and friends, and very HIGHLY RECOMMEND them right here! Don't look any further. This company is truly outstanding."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Whether a drywall anchor can be reused depends on its material, type, and the method of removal. Plastic anchors, including expansion and self-drilling types, are generally designed for single use as they tend to break or deform upon removal. Metal anchors, such as toggle bolts, are more durable and may be reusable if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle piece can fall into the wall cavity when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged during removal, for instance by having its head cut off, it cannot be reused regardless of the material.

How you hang the drywall can affect the finishing process. It's often easier to finish horizontal drywall panels, as the seams run across the wall rather than up and down. Standard drywall panels are 48 inches wide, so the seam is easy to reach without bending down or stretching your arms.

There is no way to cut drywall without making dust, but you can reduce the amount of dust and especially the dangerous airborne particles by using manual cutting tools. Using a utility knife to score and snap your drywall will minimize dust production, and a jab saw for cutting cutouts for boxes and fixtures will generate almost no airborne dust. Even if you use these methods, you should still wear a respirator and safety goggles to avoid damage to your lungs and eyes.

You can drywall an unheated garage because the material handles cold temperatures perfectly well. There are no risks or downsides to installing drywall in a garage that is not heated, and the material stands up to moisture and other elements quite well. Drywall will protect your unheated garage's electric wires and cables and add fire protection. However, for effective bonding, you should install drywall at a temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.

The time it takes for thinset to dry is determined by your room’s ambient temperature and humidity levels. Assuming the average humidity level is around 40% with an average temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, thinset can dry within 48 hours. Lower temperatures and higher humidity can extend the curing process beyond 72 hours, while high heat and zero humidity can shorten the curing process. However, thinset can crack if it dries too fast.
