"Green Thumb Lawn Care is a wonderful service! We?ve been with Barry for almost a year now since moving into our home. He provides us with bi-monthly mowing, weed-eating, and green waste disposal. Barry is extremely punctual, professional, and always makes sure to answer any questions we might have. An acre (landscaped by the previous owner) is too much for us to care for alone. Barry?s meticulous work keeps things on track. He works hard and for a reasonable rate. So thankful for all of Barry?s help! Couldn?t recommend him more."

"I was very impressed with Tyrone and his team at Precision Landcare! From the moment I reached out, communication was immediate and clear which set my mind at ease. Tyrone was flexible, taking the time to really listen to my needs and adapt the plan when needed. We had large items and accumulated junk over the years, but together we were able to tackle it head on with efficiency. In one day, their team cleared out everything we wanted removed. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and positive attitude made the entire process stress-free. We will be hiring them again in the near future and highly recommend them."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

The best way to remove lead paint is by wet hand sanding and removing all dust and residue with a HEPA vacuum. Professionals may also strip and scrape lead-based paint with a paint scraper. In some cases, you may choose to have a pro encapsulate or enclose your lead-based paint surface by covering it with a sealant or a new material. You may also choose to replace the material altogether.

No. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover any kind of lead remediation, focusing instead on sudden, unpreventable events like fires and theft. Many insurance companies will specifically exclude lead paint removal, since it tends to be an expensive and unavoidable project. The exception is if the lead surface is damaged during a covered event (like a flood) and homeowners insurance pays its replacement.

Exterior paint contains a higher level of VOCs, which can be dangerous if you’re exposed to it for a long period of time. The good news is that paint’s toxicity reduces significantly once fully dried and cured. Do not keep open exterior paint cans in your home, basement, or garage, exposing your household to harmful chemicals over time.

Chlorine has a shelf life of between six months and several years, depending on its type and formulation. Liquid chlorine can often lose its effectiveness in just a few weeks. Pool owners can find themselves with overstock that they need to get rid of. The best way to dispose of excess chlorine is to take it to a hazardous waste collection site and let the pros handle it.

You may see specialty products for sale to remove lead dust, such as D-Lead surface wipes. But you do not need to buy a special cleaner just for lead dust. A regular all-purpose cleaner, like 409 or something similar, is sufficient for cleanup. Just make sure to follow the manufacturer's directions when using it and to dilute with water.
