"BJ is an honest contractor, something that is rare these day's. He and his crew are on time and they do what they say they are going to do. BJ goes above and beyond what is stated in the contract to come back and finish little details that aren't even required of him. He simply does the right thing for whatever the situation is. If you prefer a quicker option, you can carefully cut the old carpet along the edge of the baseboards, but this may result in a less polished installation for the new carpet.

The correct method to fix bubbling carpet depends on the cause. If the bubbles are caused by moisture, drying out the carpet can help flatten it. Otherwise, a pro might need to restretch or reinstall the carpet to fix the issue.

If the installer is unwilling to fix the problems and you’re not interested in seeking remediation, you could hide a visually unpleasant floor. This will only work if the floor is structurally sound and the only issue you have is the way it looks. The easiest way to do this is to use large area rugs. You can also paint the floor, although that’s a labor-intensive job if you want to go the DIY route.
