"John is very professional. He knows what needs to be done. He installed blocking and nailers to some areas to hang the drywalls properly. John and his crew do drywall in their full time job. They didnâ t cut any corners to speed up the job. Covered everything, scrap and sweep the floor after. They complete the job on time, very please with the result. I will definitely hire them again."

Small jobs welcome

"This job was to replace glass in a cabinet door. Urbin came and took the door off the cabinet and took it to a glass place who probably did all the work. He returned the door and remounted it on the hinges. This was all done promptly and pleasantly for me."

"Frankie was very willing to help us with our project. I had discussed at length with Frankie about adding a closet in our garage. But expenses were mounting so we could not do it. But if we can afford it sometime in the future we will have Frankie do the job. Thank you!"

"Bing and Donna both exemplified excellent team work and workmanship.. The job I I had done, was reinforcing my drywall with installing a Wainscot reinforcing the wall structure with added protection an decor. . Bing was very professional and showed much detailed experience in his work with exact measurement, flawless cuts, and fitted each vinyl floor board we used as the wainscot, tight with perfection around outlets and piping. Impressive!! . The trim, he cut to size and all dimensions and angles were flawless. Bing and Donna were very conscientious of what my needs were, while showing such professionalism and being vey time efficient, offering fair prices, I will certainly hi re them again!! Thank you Bing and Donna! I appreciate the ‘Great work’ !"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You can usually tell if you have plaster or drywall by touch (plaster is harder, colder, and smoother than drywall) or by tapping on it (drywall sounds hollow, plaster does not). If you still cannot tell, peek under an outlet cover and check the cut edges. The rough edges show the composition of the wall. You will see either drywall (two paper sheets sandwiching gypsum material) or only plaster material (no paper sheets).

Installing or repairing plaster on ceilings differs slightly from performing the same motions on a wall. You’ll apply slightly less plaster to lower the overall weight of the ceiling. Wall texturing is common, whereas most ceilings are smooth plaster. Tough coat plaster is strong, meaning you can use less while retaining a solid surface.

The best way to make long, straight cuts is to use a utility knife and a T-square to score the sheet, snap along the score, and then finish the cut by cutting through the paper on the opposite side with the utility knife. If you’re making small cuts, curved cuts, or cutouts for electrical boxes or light fixtures, you can use a manual jab saw to keep costs down, but an electric spiral saw or oscillating multi-tool will get the cleanest, fastest cuts possible.

Drywall repair is typically completed within a day, depending on damage extent.

Only use spackle on plaster walls when the imperfection is small. It’s best used for nail holes or small dings in the plaster. Spackle dries quickly, allowing you to continue the repair process shortly after using it. Plaster can be tricky to repair, though, so if you run into issues, call a pro so that you don’t risk further damage.
