The service went well. They did exactly what the deal stated. The technician was a friendly guy, clean and was an efficient worker. There was a minimal amount of indoor time and scheduling was very easy.

  • Calvin's Plumbing
We had a main waterline break at our Ranch Estate in Waiki'i Ranch and the plumber we usually call couldn't get us in so I found Calvin's based on good reviews. Here I am adding to another great review for the incredible and quick work done by Garrett with Calvin's Plumbing. Not only is Garrett super knowledgeable but he is down to earth, explained every step and was able to get us in immediately and fix our water leak right away. He also made sure that the materials he used would be more secure and durable. I am so grateful to have found this company. 1 month later we had another mainline water break in a different location and we immediately called Garrett at Calvin's plumbing who helped us out immediately. Garrett professionalism shows not only in his work but also in the way he carries himself and how meticulously tidy his plumbing truck was. We had a little non-communication from the booking agent but thank goodness we have connected with Garrett. He is absolutely the reason this company is now our go-to. I highly recommend!!!

Eric did an excellent job on our kitchen remodel! My wife and I were a little reluctant going into this project in the beginning you always hear about those nightmare remodels but when Eric came in to give us the initial quote he immediately put our minds at ease. Very detailed oriented and efficient, he did a great job. We will definitely use Kona Handyman Service for our future projects

  • Wasson's Plumbing & Pump Co Inc.
The Wassons (father and son) are an exceptional team of professionals. I have used them a few times, and they are always prompt, courteous, and get the job done in a timely manner. They deal with our propane issues, plumbing needs no matter how big or small. It isn't always easy to find trustworthy and competent folks these days....but with these guys, you get the best. I highly recommend them

  • Keoni's Professional Services
I contacted John on a Sunday; he replied within the hour and came by to have a look at the job later that same afternoon. Not being an emergency, the work was scheduled by mutual agreement for later in the week. New toilet would not fit due to configuration of plumbing connections. John handled the situation with aplomb — restoring the old fixture to working condition —and worked much beyond his estimated hours for the job without increasing his fee. Knowledgeable and professional . . . . would hire again

  • RT's Plumbing Inc
Panic!! Had a very leaky shower faucet and was going away the next day. This should be the landlord's problem, but he was out of the country, and we were new to Hilo - had no idea about who to call. Called around and got no answers except from these folks. They called me back promptly and said they would come that day. They did not get back to me, and I was worried about leaving with the leak going on. But they called me first thing the next morning, apologized for not getting back to me, and sent a service man right then to fix the problem before I had to leave. He explained to me that if this kept happening, they would need to hunt for the proper parts because it is an old house and the parts are also old and hard to obtain. Came a second time for the same problem about a month later. This time it was 'R' himself. He was able to fix it again without all the valve replacing after all, and it is still not leaking 4 months later. At that time, R showed me what he had done and explained how it would need to be fixed if it happened again, but it has not started to leak again yet. The landlord has told me to go ahead and get the repair done if the leak reoccurs, and seems happy to use this company. I was never billed for these services. I mentioned this to the plumber on his second visit but still have not been billed. I do not think that the landlord has been billed either, as I never gave his information to the plumber

  • Will's Plumbing & Heating
It went great. Will was prompt, very polite, and happened to know my brother who is also in the contruction business! Will came to give me a quote on what I thought was a "pin p****" leak in my pipes. As it turned out, there was no leak, but there was a huge fire ant nest in my walls! While he was here, he fixed a leaky faucet in the downstairs bathroom

I received a note from Water Co., that I have a leak, cuz my water consuption was double the normal rate. Note that I had this same problem about 15 month ago, was fixed after a bill of #1,000.00 from another co. Tony came to inspect the leak, since the pipes were underground, was difficult to see where the leak came from, since I had the same problem before, it could be the same place, so Tony suggested that we could connect the water line above ground from the Meter to the house. What a brillant idea, why did I not have thought about it ? Well, they did exactely what should be done, gave me an estimate, came in few days and fixed the problem for good, cuz now, I can see the leak, if there is ever another, hope note. Tony was great, but Roger and Colt were the 2 gentlemen that did the work, they are the BEST, great job, and very friendly. Very happy with their services.

Plumbing FAQ

  1. How much does a plumber cost?

Answer: The cost of a plumber ranges from $175 to $480, with a national average of $330. However, the price will vary depending on job complexity, timing, location, supplies and materials, permits, and level of expertise. These costs typically include toilet repairs, faucet installations, and leaky pipes. In addition to the service call, you may also need to budget for haul-away and trip fees often required during more complicated jobs. Ask your local plumbing contractor about these fees before hiring them.

  2. How much does a plumber charge to replace a toilet?

Answer: On average, you can expect to pay your local plumbing contractor between $125 and $230 to replace an old toilet, with most residential homeowners paying around $150 to $180 for professional installation. You’ll need to consider materials and labor when calculating a final price. Not all toilets are equal. Depending on the brand you choose and the features you want, a new toilet might run you anywhere from $100 to $1,300. Add in the price of labor and installation, and your total project can jump up to $200 and $1,500.

  3. How much does a plumber cost to fix a toilet?

Answer: According to our service providers, it costs roughly $75 to $200 on average to have your toilet repaired. However, this price will vary depending on the complexity of the job and the materials needed for the fix. Repairs can be messy and less-than-pleasant to address, but having a functioning toilet is most definitely necessary. If you’re experiencing problems with your toilet, contact a local, reputable plumbing contractor right away, as avoiding repairs can lead to bigger—and more expensive—issues over time.

  4. Is liquid plumber safe for septic systems?

Answer: Good news! Liquid-Plumr® is safe for septic systems. Most drain cleaners disrupt the pH in your septic tank, which prevents the good bacteria from breaking down septic waste. The chemical make-up in Liquid-Plumr® works with the bacteria to break down waste quickly without harming your septic system. Still, it’s best to confirm with your local plumbing provider if Liquid-Plumr® is the right solution for your system.

  5. How much is it for a plumber to unclog a toilet?

Answer: Even the most well-maintained toilets experience clogs. It’ll cost you an average of $200 to $700 to unclog your toilet. Severe clogs will require a more comprehensive repair method, so check with your local plumbing contractor to determine the best approach for unclogging your toilet.

  6. Is Liquid-Plumr®, or any other liquid drain cleaner, safe for septic systems?

Answer: Yes and no. Liquid-Plumr® and other drain cleaners are most effective when used sparingly (one to three times a year). Repeated use of liquid plumber on drains could deteriorate your pipes and cause more damage. If your pipes clog frequently, put down the liquid plumber and call your local plumbing contractor immediately.
