"We loved working with My Pool Builders! They went above and beyond every step of the process. Let me tell you… these guys work HARD. It was about 3 weeks in from the start of our pool build and we had an inspection the next day, they worked until 10pm ensuring we’d be ready for the inspection the next morning! One of the best things about this company compared to any other builder you’ll get a quote from - they hire their employees full time, they don’t subcontract anything out so you know it’s quality work. They are also the only ones who offer self cleaning pool systems standard. Owning a self-cleaning pool is a GAME CHANGER!! Not only does it clean itself up easily (without a giant robot to take in and out of the pool) it also heats more efficiently. Recently our pool heater decided to rebel and needed repair, they contacted Hayward for us, had a Hayward repair rep come and work with us and ultimately replaced the heater for us. Every question I’ve had about pool maintenance or equipment has been answered right away. I highly recommend using My Pool Builders for your pool!"
16' x 32' freeform pool with a 7' round raised spa. This pool has 6" ceramic waterline tile, eased edge silver travertine coping and 24' x 24' silver travertine pavers. Thins pool has a cool blue mini pebble finish to give it that beautiful light blue water!

"Soccor and his team are absolutely fantastic! They installed our pool quickly and with excellence! They arrived when they said they would and worked extremely hard. They made sure we were totally satisfied with everything. Then when we needed additional help in opening the next season, they were right there with great advice. He is always friendly, helpful and got our pool up and running when other places couldnâ t help! Some places sell you the product and you never see them again. Soccor sticks with you to help no matter how much time has elapsed. I wish every business was run with such integrity!"

Install Above Ground Pools questions, answered by experts

It's not ideal, and if your pool’s pH is seriously low (below 7), swimming can be dangerous until you raise it, potentially causing severe irritation and damage to the skin and eyes.

Keep in mind that low pH can also be responsible for damaging the pool itself. Acidic water can contribute to the cracking of your pool's liner, which may cost up to $2,500 to replace, making this an expensive fix.

There are some disadvantages to a salt water pool. Besides costing slightly more than chlorine pools, salt water pools require a lot of salt. It's also harder to find a professional with salt water pool experience to do minor maintenance and repairs. Salt water can also damage some materials, so you’ll need to use specific heating, fixtures, lighting, liners, and masonry when building a salt water pool.

Any number between 7.2 and 7.8 is an ideal pH for swimming pools or 80 to 120 ppm. Your pool testing kit should be able to measure both of these numbers. If your pool’s pH is below this range, the water is too acidic and can cause scaling and damage to pool equipment. If the water’s pH is above this range, it can decrease the effectiveness of necessary chemicals, like chlorine.

An above-ground pool with a deck can increase your home's value by as much as 4% to 7%, but it depends on your local climate, potential buyers, and the size and condition of your pool. Some buyers see a pool as a liability instead of a luxury, especially if it's at the end of its life span. In general, it's best to add a pool and deck to your property if it will bring you enjoyment—not because it raises the value of your home.

Calcium lumps in a pool are calcium deposits that form when a pool's water parameters are not in the normal range. They can float around on the surface of the pool water, making it look and feel dirty. The most common causes of calcium lumps in pools are calcium hardness above 1,000 ppm, alkalinity over 120, and a pH over 7.8. Keeping your pool’s calcium levels, alkalinity, and pH levels within the normal, safe ranges is the best way to prevent calcium lumps and other problems, including damage to the pool surface.
