"Sierra was highly recommended to me by a mutual friend. She and her cleaning crew are prompt and personable. They are very thorough. She is the 3rd person I have hired to clean my home and is by far the best. I highly recommend her."

"Excellent service. Chericah, Archie and their two girls are no strangers to work. They came into our home and performed a deep clean of our house. My wife and I were very pleased with the result of their efforts. They are very nice and pleasant people to work with. We have already agreed for them to come to our home on a regular house cleaning schedule."

Replace My Floors and More

"I needed to replace my bathroom flooring due to some subfloor damaged caused by a water leak and was anxious and unsure of what I was getting was getting myself into. I tried to make several appointments with a few of the larger flooring installers in town which proved to be extremely difficult due to my busy schedule. A friend recommended Rob (as he had previously installed a custom shower that she was very pleased with). Rob was more than accommodating with my busy schedule and showed up on time for the estimate (he even called to let me know he was on the way and to make sure I was available). I felt so at ease as he explained the problem, listened to my concerns and together we came up with a plan that would fit my budget. The work was completed on time and I even asked for few upgrades in materials (which I am so happy for even though it cost me a little extra in time and products). I just wanted a basic tile floor installed and wasn’t expecting much but thanks to Rob’s experience, knowledge and patience I now have a bathroom floor that is stylish and unique at a reasonable price. I have recommended Rob to several friends once they have seen my awesome new bathroom. Thanks Rob!!!"

Floor Cleaning and Waxing questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can polish an old cement floor. However, be aware that the first pass with the concrete grinder may reveal a few surprises and imperfections. You may also have to contend with the consequences of previous floor coverings, such as tile or carpet, which can leave a pattern in the concrete. Old concrete is more likely to produce uneven results if you want to use a dye or other coloring.

Most DIY floor cleaners don’t require rinsing, but you’ll want to make sure you don’t add too much dish soap or oil to the cleaner to avoid having to rinse it after cleaning. For non-wood floors, mix 8 parts warm water, 1 part vinegar, and 1 part baking soda with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, use olive oil in that same mixture instead of the vinegar. You can let these solutions air-dry after cleaning your floors with them, although you should manually dry your floors if they aren’t waterproof.

Cleaning floors is a relatively easy DIY job, but paying for a professional cleaning service is worthwhile if you don’t have the time to dedicate to cleaning or if you have particularly dirty floors, deep-set stains, or wooden floors that you might damage during the cleaning process. A professional house cleaner will have the tools and experience necessary to remove dirt, pet hair, debris, and even stains and discoloration from your floors without damaging them. The service is also relatively affordable, making it a great investment if you don’t have the time or tools to do it yourself.

While it is not recommended, you can mix Bon Ami with vinegar for a more powerful cleaning mixture. However, you should avoid mixing other types of powder cleaners, such as Comet and Ajax, with vinegar or with each other, as the reaction often creates a toxic gas that’s dangerous to the human body.

You can embrace minimalism when it comes to cleaning vinyl plank flooring. Water or diluted vinegar both work great for mopping and are much better options than some other cleaners that can damage the protective coating on these floors. Ammonia or solvent-based polishes can both break down the top layer. Also, avoid “mop-and-shine” cleaners, which tend to leave behind residue on vinyl plank floors.
