"First and foremost, research the cost for tree service in your area. Mr. Damion and his work crew arrived as scheduled, devised a gameplan, and commenced removing the tree. Returned the following day to grind the stump and roots and relevelled the surface area. The cost was very reasonable. Recommendation over ALL other Tree Service. My experience with Blue Tag Tree Service was GREAT! Thanks gentlemen for a job WELL DONE!!!"

"Customer service is a top priority with Josh Elliott, owner of Elliott Xtreme Services. Josh tailors his services to fit a clientâ s requests. I was seeking a reliable company to mow the lawn to my specifications, edge around fencing & driveway, & clean up clippings with a blower. Josh exceeded my expectations, & I look forward to a long working relationship with his lawn service company. I especially appreciate his quick responses to texts & being available in a timely manner. I highly recommend Elliott Xtreme Services."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Late winter is ideal, but if you’re pruning apple trees in the spring, prune them as early as possible in the season. You want to ensure your tree is just creeping out of dormancy and hasn’t started pushing out new growth. If you prune your tree too late into spring, you generally won’t see results until the following year.

That said, there’s no pruning season for unhealthy growth. Remove dead, dying, or diseased branches as soon as you notice them, regardless of the time of year.

An unsafe tree can cause serious damage to your home and property, so tree inspections are important to ensure your home isn’t in danger from a nearby tree. Unhealthy trees can also be unsafe trees, as diseases and insect damage can compromise a tree’s stability, leading to potential damage and safety risks.

A dead tree should always be cut down, because it could fall and cause injuries or damage, and it can also attract insects like carpenter ants. A tree that’s diseased beyond repair should also be cut down, but it’s not always easy for a homeowner to tell. Signs of disease include dying branches, a hollow trunk, leaning, and discolored or missing leaves, but your best bet is to hire a local arborist who can evaluate the tree and tell you if it can be saved or should be cut down.

Most jobs take 2-8 hours, but extensive trimming may take multiple days.

You’ll want to have your palm trees trimmed during the spring, ideally in May, before hurricane season sets in, which generally takes place during the late summer. Palm trees grow fastest over the summer months. You’ll also want to trim your palm trees when you notice:

  • Brown fronds

  • Dry leaves

  • Flower pods

  • Fruit

  • Fronds overgrown in power lines

  • Frond encroaching upon your neighbor’s home or yard

  • Visible damage from a storm
