"The absolutely best insulation company I have ever used. I've insulated four homes in my past prior to moving in, however the communication and the quality of workmanship performed by Speedy Insulation has been superior to any company I've ever hired. I will highly recommend SPEEDY INSULATION for any insulation job needed. Helena Black, Very Satisfied Customer"

Small jobs welcome

"They were fantastic and a great value. They were straight shooters, did not give me more than I need in terms of cost or fanciness. They took time (efficiently) to inspect onsite what needed to be done, and finished faster than intended. They even vacuumed up after themselves-above & beyond. I waited a week to see the effects before posting, to be more useful. The improvement in my house's heating and cooling was instant. They came after a long cold streak in Tallahassee (January) and were coming to do two jobs: (1) updating insulation for my 30-year old house with a metal roof and existing insulation and (2) partially-finished garage/office. Now our attic closets & office are more moderate in temperature & do not leak as much hot/cold air. This helps energy efficiency and makes the space more usable. They gave good guidance on that front, too for any future renovations. Went from a 30+ degree differential between the house/closets to a ~5 degree. We use them & my office much more!"

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Asphalt roofs provide better insulation than metal roofs, but that doesn’t always mean that asphalt roofs are better for reducing heating and cooling bills. In hotter climates, metal roofs will usually be better for home efficiency because the material reflects more sunlight and reduces solar heat gain. In colder climates, asphalt roofs are sometimes superior in terms of efficiency because they introduce more solar heat gain to your home and have greater insulating capabilities. However, metal roofs installed with an air gap can provide similar levels of insulation.

Yes, covering exposed wires is necessary for several important reasons. Exposed electrical wires pose significant risks, such as electrical shocks, fires, short circuits, and potential damage to your home’s electrical system. By properly insulating and protecting the wires, you can minimize the potential for accidents, prevent electrical fires, and ensure your electrical system stays intact.

High humidity, bad insulation, warmth from sunlight, and poor circulation are all reasons your home’s hotter inside than out. While this is what you want in the colder months, summer can become unbearable if this is a constant. Try to find the cause, but you need to remember that issues like this require a permanent fix (unless you want to bear down during the summer months).

It’s best not to install a radiant barrier directly under insulation because it requires an air gap on at least one side to work properly. Instead, you should install the radiant barrier over your existing insulation to create an air space to reflect the radiant heat.

While insulation is required for all exterior walls in a house, it is not typically required for interior walls. Local and state building codes mandate that new construction homes have adequate insulation in exterior walls and ceilings to suit the local climate.

However, there are several benefits to adding insulation to interior walls. It is excellent for sound-dampening between rooms and can help with temperature control by maintaining a regulated temperature in specific rooms and lowering heat transfer between adjacent areas. Insulating interior walls can also contribute to the overall energy efficiency of your home.
