"David was attentive to my situation and made good suggestions; we spent a good deal of time sitting on the roof, in cold weather to come to a decision; well worth the time and effort. The response was rapid and executed by two thorough and exceptionally hard working crews. David and his crews came well equipped with extra parts so as to minimize trips to dealers. Work progressed from dawn to night time. Clean up crew was thorough and worked through the day with the roofers. David and his crew are personable and easy to work with. I strongly recommend Rackley Roofing & Supply and his crews."

"Accent Roofing is an absolute professional operation. They replaced my roof that was replaced in 2008 by your typical storm chasing roofing companies. From start to finish they did exactly what they said they were going to do once I decide to use them for my new roof. The roofing system they use is second to none as well as their team of professionals that did the removal of the old roof and the installation of the new roof. From start to finish they had representatives on the ground and on the roof constantly keeping me updated as to the process, any damaged or rotted decking to the completion of the new roof and ensuring the roof system was being installed to the manufactures specifications. Throughout the process they were constantly taking pictures with a drone that they use to capture pictures of the removal of the old shingles, any damaged or rotting decking to the complete installation of the new roof. Once the job was completed a representative from the office came out and inspected the finished work and as well as wanting to ensure I was completely satisfied with the process. Bobby was my sales representative and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Bobby represents the company with absolute professionalism! I highly recommend Accent Rooofing! Thanks Accent Roofing, Joe"

"They're good. They did an excellent job. They really handled all the insurance and stuff. I give them high ratings. In fact, if I would need a roofing service in the Atlanta area, I would definitely use them. Unfortunately, I am now living in Fort Worth, Texas. The insurance company had recommended them and then they worked real well with the insurance company to get it all taken care of. They came out, did the estimate, handled the paperwork with the insurance company and they came out in one day. They took of the old roof, replaced the plywood and then put the new roof on. They did it all in one day and its a pretty good sized roof. Plus they cleaned out and stuff. They had a trailer that they loaded all the excess for the old roof and stuff in. I don't think they even charged for that because a lot of them will charge us $400 to have one of those garbage things dropped off by the disposal company. They had a trailer and they dealt with it. They didn't charge anything for that. It was a very pleasant experience. The people that had we dealt with were very polite and very professional. They just did what they said and got it done."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Shingle roofing can last anywhere from 15 to 50 years, depending on the type and quality of shingle, your local climate, and how well you maintain your roof. If you live in an area that sees extreme weather, like strong winds, hail storms, or hurricanes, the average life span of a shingle roof will often be on the shorter end, especially if you choose a more affordable roof shingle that isn’t designed to persist through extreme weather.

Ensures precision fitting, optimizing durability and efficiency against weather elements.

Ridge vents can last as long as your roof does. As long as your ridge vents were installed correctly by a qualified professional, they will need very little upkeep. Inspecting your ridge vents annually to ensure they aren’t cracked, clogged, or leaking will help prolong their lifespan.

Thatched roofs are expensive for two main reasons: high labor costs and low supply of available roofers. The labor is more intensive for a thatched roof than other roof materials, so your contractor will work longer and charge more for the installation. There are also few professionals with the specialized skills and experience to install thatched roofs. Since the supply of available professionals is low, the cost of compensation is high.

The principal, common, and auxiliary rafters are the most frequently used types of rafters. Principal rafters are large and typically appear toward the edges of the roof. Common rafters are smaller than principal rafters. Some people may use a mix of common and principal rafters. The auxiliary rafter is not common, but it provides extra reinforcement for a principal rafter on a large building.
