"If you want service excellence, this is your company. We had a sizable project (removal of 7 trees, branch trimming of 3 mature maples, etc). Stevie was very nice and knowledgeable as we walked the property. Different from others who came to provide estimates, Stevie was KNOWLEDGEABLE! He provided insight on the reason why several of the 7 trees were dying (now we better understand how to prevent the issues in the future). Stevie also identified a potential issue with a tree that was not on our radar. There was no pressure/ no pitch from Stevie. He was simply sharing his expertise. He provided an official estimate before leaving. It was a no-brainer to select A and C. Within 24 hours, I let Shelly know that we wanted to go with their company. Due to weather, it was about 12 days before the crew was able to come out (Thank you A and C for taking weather into account so my lawn would not be damaged!). I can not say enough about their professionalism, expertise, and just how personable/ nice they were It was amazing to watch them work. I am still in awe of how precise and careful they were with taking down such large trees. They not only cleared the debris from the tree removal and branch trimming off our property and our street, they also cleared some leaves and branches that were there before they arrived! The level of customer service far exceeded my expectations. One last, important note, their pricing is VERY reasonable."

"Great response time. Made an appointment and came early. The work crew was professional, hard working, and very courteous. They dug up a small shrub that was in harm's way and replanted it after they were done! They not only removed limbs and such, but blew off the yard and even used hand rakes to clean up. They completely cut down a very old and huge oak tree and trimmed three other trees. They cut the tree into small pieces so that I could split it for firewood. They went beyond expectations. Fido and his crew were amazing. This was the most satisfying work that I have ever had done by any kind of worker. I have been recommending them to everyone that I know who needs tree service work."

"Parker and his crew are careful and skilled arborists, able to work in well established gardens with a minimum of disturbance. They removed a large tree beside my house and limbed up pecan, birch and oak while doing no damage to Japanese maples and perennials planted beneath. They also saved an old pecan by gently removing a strangling overgrowth of ivy from it. The end results were almost magical, more sunlight and airflow and better balance and form. Transformative in the best way."

"Very good value and customer service for service provided. 4 trees removed and 6 trees total cut up. 4 trees hauled away and brush removed over a 30 × 20 square feet area for a lot less than $2000. I highly recommend."

"Hunter did a great job, kept a clean work area and went above and beyond to ensure the area around the tree was cleaner than when he started. Hunter also communicated very well about the process, price and expectations. I will be recommending him to all my friends and family."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

You don’t always need a permit to grind a stump, but you might need one depending on your location and the stump’s surroundings. Permits are often needed if the stump is part of a protected tree species, near public areas or utility lines, or close to environmentally sensitive zones like wetlands. Some cities also regulate noise and work hours. Always check local rules before grinding, and contact your city or county office if you're unsure.

Late winter is ideal, but if you’re pruning apple trees in the spring, prune them as early as possible in the season. You want to ensure your tree is just creeping out of dormancy and hasn’t started pushing out new growth. If you prune your tree too late into spring, you generally won’t see results until the following year.

That said, there’s no pruning season for unhealthy growth. Remove dead, dying, or diseased branches as soon as you notice them, regardless of the time of year.

Generally, you should prune around 20% of an apple tree’s growth—and never more than 30%. This means that if you have a severely overgrown tree, it can take a few seasons to prune it back enough to produce the healthiest fruit.

If you’re dealing with a newly planted or juvenile tree, hold off on pruning beyond the initial shaping. Wait at least a couple of seasons into fruit production since pruning can increase the number of water sprouts and unproductive foliage.

There are several signs that may indicate a tree needs to be cut down. These include visible damage to the trunk or branches, a hollow trunk, extensive storm damage, or a significant lean to one side. Other warning signs are pest infestations or the tree growing too close to a house, power lines, or other structures. It is best to hire a professional arborist to inspect the tree, as they can determine if it can be saved or if removal is necessary.

While palm trees can bring aesthetic appeal to your yard, they have a couple of drawbacks. The main disadvantage is that many types require warm climates, so if you live in a cold region, you need to ensure you pick a palm that can withstand the freezing temperatures. Another downside is that maintenance can be difficult because of their height, which means you will need to pay a pro to prune the tree as needed.
