"Alberto with AB landscaping came by and gave me a quote for the landscaping work that included some slight grading of my back yard and installing Bermuda sod. We ordered the sod and the day before it was delivered Alberto and his crew came by and completed the grading work and returned the next day and layed the sod. Great job AB landscaping my backyard looks great. Thank you for a job well done"

"Dennis was knowledgeable about the product and made sound recommendations for our project. He delivered the project on time and on budget - it was a pleasure working with him. The only reason I graded a 4.0 and not a 5.0 on work quality was really not a reflection on Dennis' quality of work, but rather the fact that the turf was only available in 15' widths, which created "seam-stripes" in the turf - these are supposed to become less obvious over time. We are really satisfied with the appearance overall and would recommend Dennis highly."

"We hired Fortin Landscaping in the fall to redo areas around our home with plantings. We were pleased with the professionalism and attention to detail. We hired them again in early spring to do additional work. They are responsive to requests and their crew is on time and efficient. Highly recommend for any landscaping and stone work."

"I don’t normally write reviews, but they deserve as many stars as they can get. The whole experience was amazing dealing with them. Davin the owner came out and did the estimate using satellite and was able to give me an exact sqft, and sent me the drawing mapped out, and said he wanted me to have an exact number in case I wanted to call some other companies to get quotes. I had a few delays with closing on the house and he was able to adjust the schedule without any hassle and no kind of pushback. They worked extremely fast, almost had a 2 day job knocked out in 1 day. I had them lay 35 pallets of sod to finish my backyard on a new build. At no extra cost, they fixed all the mistakes that the contractors made laying the sod during the building process, and then rerolled my entire yard, even the sod they didn’t lay. After they were finished, one of the leads noticed my yard had a spot that was holding water (no fault of theirs), and came back for free to fix my yard to drain properly."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

The cost to plant a small tree or sapling is between $100 and $300 on average, if you hire a professional. Big trees will cost more and usually require the work of a specialist, so expect to pay over $1,000 for those.

When planting, it's best to leave several feet between a house and a juniper bush. Many juniper varieties will become quite bushy and require space to grow. Juniper branches that come into contact with siding can damage the home's exterior over time. Also, some juniper bushes have aggressive roots that can put pressure on a home's foundation or basement walls.

How much 4 yards of dirt will cover depends on how deep you want the soil to be. In general, a yard of dirt will cover 324 square feet for a 1-inch depth or 100 square feet for a 3-inch depth. Therefore, you can expect 4 yards to cover between 400 and 1,296 square feet if you keep your soil depth between 1 and 3 inches.

The best time to plant a tree is in the spring, so the roots have time to grow into the surrounding soil before winter sets in. Some people recommend planting in the late fall. However, planting in the spring reduces the stress on the tree, as it will be emerging from dormancy, giving it the full spring and summer ahead to acclimate and put down roots into the soil.

Yes, many providers offer organic or eco-friendly treatments. Confirm availability with your contractor.
