"Unfortunately the service tech was 2 hours late. Not entirely uncommon with Atlanta traffic but still frustrating. One of the areas I paid to be cleaned was my stairs but the tech didn’t even touch the toe kicks. Next, as they were packing up one of the hoses leaked some water on my floors, no big deal execpt I was asked for a towel to clean it up. Finally, when it came to payment time the $99 that was agreed upon on the phone all of a sudden had a $15 “trip change” that was never mentioned before."

Couch Cleaning Services questions, answered by experts

Issues like refrigerant leaks, electrical problems, and airflow obstructions are handled expertly.

NATE-certified technicians may charge slightly higher service fees compared to non-certified technicians. This is because NATE certification signifies a higher level of expertise and professionalism, often leading to more efficient and effective HVAC repairs and installations. While the upfront cost may be marginally higher, NATE-certified technicians can potentially save you money in the long run by reducing energy consumption, preventing frequent breakdowns, and extending the life span of your HVAC system. When looking for a local HVAC company to hire, it never hurts to ask about NATE certifications.

It’s not customary to tip HVAC technicians, and most professionals won’t expect it. However, it’s a nice way of showing your appreciation for the work they do, especially if they come out in inclement weather or on a weekend or holiday to fix an emergency issue if your heat or AC goes out in extreme temperatures. A good tip would be between 10% to 20% of the total bill, depending on how above and beyond the tech goes for your repair and on the total cost of your HVAC repair or service. For something like a routine tune-up or scheduled maintenance, tips aren’t expected.

Putting an air filter in backward can reduce airflow, which means your air conditioner has to work harder, putting a strain on your HVAC system. This can result in higher energy bills, premature repair, or even system replacement. Always check the manufacturer's guidelines to identify what is the front and back of the filter.

Even if you don’t have an exhaust, you can still use a carbon filter in line with a duct fan. This method is known as “scrubbing” because it cleans particles from the air and recirculates the air within your space. This method allows you to keep your enclosed garden space sealed from the outside environment.
