"I have been extremely pleased with their service. Because what I needed was so specific, I did not do it online and I had them come out here. The designer came and she helped me. I moved into this place a year ago and I do not have the artistic sense for putting up photos and artwork so she took what I had and helped me arrange it all. It came out very nice and we are almost done. We had more work to be done so I paid for a few extra hours. I am going to pay her for another extra hour of her services. I spent an addition $1,002. The major part of that expense was the materials and not the hours because she gave me the same rate for the hours that Angie's List has given me. Their price was very reasonable. I would absolutely use them again in the future."

"Jill was very pleasant to work with, taking care to assure that specifications were clear & and our preferences were respected.
She provided two complete design layouts as options to choose from before further design work was done. After one was selected, she provided great ideas for furnishings (with distinct measurements,)
appropriate for the setting , accessories, and even paint colors, and samples to work with.
It was a great help to have her assist me, giving me confidence to move forward with furnishing our new home.
I would never have anticipated that one could be so effective with design via email!
Very pleased with results!

"The salesperson was clear (mostly) and the work was done on time and well -- finished in one day and cleaned up very well. My one caveat is that the salesperson clearly stated that the work would be done by a local contractor, which was, I guess, technically true, since it looks like a local contractor subcontracted to a group of men (Polish or Russian) who drove up from Chicago and did the work. I was led to believe it would be done by local workers so that was a bit off-putting"

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

There are both temporary and permanent ways to enclose a carport. If you’re looking to enclose your carport for the winter, a canvas enclosure could do the trick. It won’t be as protective as a permanent structure, but it can offer some protection from elements like snow, rain, and wind. For a permanent enclosure, you can add extra walls, add a new vertical roof, or a lean-to addition on one side of the structure.

Carpenters are trained to take on a wide range of home projects. You can hire a carpenter to do framing, roofing, build custom furniture, and make significant upgrades to your home. General carpenters are usually able to handle most jobs. However, you may also choose to hire a carpenter who specializes in a specific type of carpentry.

While it is possible to build a wooden carport yourself, especially if you are skilled in carpentry, professional construction is recommended. Professionals ensure structural integrity, proper anchoring, correct alignment, and the use of quality materials for a stable and durable result.

Removing a load-bearing wall is best handled by professionals. However, if you have the skill set and decide to DIY the project, you will still need at least one additional person to assist you. Aside from helping with demolition, you'll need another hand to install the new support beam.

Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.
