The original HVAC units that were installed when my house was built over twenty years ago were limping along on their last legs. They were inadequate low-grade units put in by the builder. Shumate had done great job keeping them alive for the past few years so we could make it through the summers. Finally, the upstairs unit died--beyond hope of saving. I had had such great service from Shumate over the years, so I asked them for a quote on good replacements for both upstairs and downstairs. They promptly and courteously complied. They recommended the XC14 second tier Lennox units with variable speed furnace fan, and a seer rating of 14-16, and re-doing the ductwork adjacent to the units. They also recommended a more powerful unit for upstairs unit, because my ductwork would accomodate it, and it would be more cost-effective, and heavy-duty filters for both units. Shumate gave me their best price up front. I told them I'd have to get other quotes and get back to them. They were fine with that, and said they always recommend that. I got four other quotes from other companies on comparable units (comparing apples to apples and doing my homework on various brands), ductwork, thermostats, etc. Long story short, Shumate beat them all hands down with the best price plus additional discounts and rebates. They even added a few other details at no additional charge. Shumate's rep never said anything bad about any other company, but during his answers to my questions, I realized a couple of other companies had been less than honest with me. On the agreed upon day, Shumate arrived with all equipment and a full crew, and began work in the morning before the heat of the day, and didn't stop until the whole job was done. Then the job supervisor walked me through everything and explained everything, even programmed the thermostats to our specifications. They cleaned up and hauled off all the old equipment, scraps and debris, and even swept up the tiniest particles. Sumate's people were so friendly and helpful, as always in our previous experience with them. These new Lennox units are awesome. Quiet (you never hear them), efficient (energy efficient and money saving), and the house is always at the perfect temperature--super comfortable! They've since called me a couple of times to make sure I'm completely happy and to answer any additional questions. That's good service. Bottom line: I can whole-heartedly recommend Shumate, and will use them again and again for all my HVAC needs. If you need airconditioning or heating for your home, let Shumate give you a quote. I bet you'll choose them for the job. If you choose Shumate, you won't be disappointed

He identified the problem right away, made sure I saw exactly what it was, and fixed it. He educated me about safety and a few other things. There was a possible leak that was taken care of. His fee was inexpensive.

(It is recommended that each home have 2 detectors with one in the bedroom to allow for a possible faulty detector.) Also, don't forget a fire alarm.

"PV Heating & Air was recommended to help us solve an issue created by off gassing from the spray foam insulation installed in our home's attic. Jason (co-owner with his brothers) and James came out to assess our home. They explained that solving indoor air quality problems can be tricky since sense of smell varies among individuals. Based on their assessment, Jason and James recommended installing an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV), a whole house dehumidifier, and a whole house HEPA filter system. They both answered our many questions. It took a few weeks for the equipment to come in, but James kept us informed. James came out with the installation crew the first day. Rod and Omir worked tirelessly to install the equipment and were extremely friendly and professional. David (who is another of the three brothers who own the company) came out to verify everything was installed correctly and took time to answer our questions. He also patiently explained how the equipment worked. The crew cleaned up completely once they were finished. It has been a little over a week since the work was completed. We no longer smell the off gassing odor. Additionally our attic is now less humid and more comfortable even though it was not bad before compared to a traditional attic. We are now in process of working with PV Heating & Air on options for our air conditioner which appears to have a freon leak based on history before PV Heating & Air started work. Our experience left us feeling they know what they are selling and doing, are very responsive, and execute on what they propose. I would not hesitate to recommend them.
