"We found Georgia Rodent Removal on Angi and had a superior experience after seeing a bat indoors. Chad responded within minutes of my request(which was on a Sunday). He explained that if he found something there was no inspection charge and quoted me a very reasonable inspection fee if he didn't find anything. We didn't have any signs of a bat or bat droppings. His professionalism and educational attitude made working with him very easy and even enjoyable. I hope to never need him again, but if I do he's the only one I'll call."

"Gutters were cleaned and ground was blown off beneath the work. Gutter was tightened where the recent ice storm had loosened it. I showed him a problem with the way the downspouts were emptying and for an additional charge they solved my problem."

"First, thanks to all of you who provided feedback. It was VERY helpful. After much time and several estimates, I went with Local Wildlife Experts / Justin McCalvin owner and hands-on expert. Customer service which is very important to me, is A+. His estimate was thorough and included terms and conditions up front He calls with a status on his arrival, is punctual, communicates thoroughly, has a payment plan, and is a joy to work with. Yes, his solution includes galvanized steel sealing of construction gaps, and sealing of ground and roof vents. The cost was $700 less than my pest control company who also does wildlife solutions. If you have a problem, which I hope you never will, please consult Justin. He is awesome!"

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

Depending on the size of your home and accessibility, expect professional pest inspections to take between 30 and 60 minutes. If you have a large property or limited accessibility, pest inspections may take longer.

Both spikes and loose nets can be installed over nest sites to prevent the bird from returning, but nets are not a humane option since birds and other wildlife can get tangled in them.

Spikes are a humane alternative that deter nesting without harming the birds. In small areas, like vents, a very fine mesh net can be installed to prevent the bird from returning. These nets don't generally pose a risk to the birds.

When it comes to keeping birds from doing their business on your porch rails, you have several DIY options and home remedies you can try:

  • Tie a fishing line from one end of the deck post to the other. Birds won’t be able to see the line across the railing, so they can’t land on it.

  • Hang wind chimes close by, which may scare birds away.

  • Apply a bird gel repellent to the railings, which contains smells that birds generally don’t like. Or, similarly, you can apply citronella or lemon oil around the railings, since birds don’t like strong smells.

Regular cleaning, proper food storage, sealing entry points, and professional inspections help prevent infestations.

There are DIY methods and store-bought pesticides available for the public to use. However, these pesticides also come with a risk, and you need to follow the directions correctly and take precautionary measures to prevent exposure to these chemicals. These methods may be an option for small pest problems, but you should call in a pest control specialist for persistent pests and infestations.
