"I was very pleased with their professionalism and craft. My kitchen looks like it came from an HGTV show. My wife and I are excited to show our kitchen to family and friends. For all future projects I will be hiring Pedro and his team."

"They were very professional and not pushy at all. Actually called them after hours to make some major repairs and they responded immediately and was there the very next day. By far one of the best contractor experiences I've had. Please see the before and after pictures below"

Customers say: True professional

"I contacted Raven less about 2 days prior to having the work performed. Raven did not only respond immediately, and came to do an estimate next day, he had the best price and was able to do the work immediately. Raven explained in detail what he was going to do and why and I am very happy with the deck renovation. Will definitely hire again and recommend him to all friends and family members."

"They charged me additional fees, like $159 more, which I don't quite get. My repairs were very small but the quantity was right. I have a small two-storied house, not high off the ground. It has very simple access. I paid for the materials. I'm sure they didn't need all the materials and then, I got this other fee and I wasn't notified of it. The guy named Lance was pretty responsive. He communicated pretty well up until the moment of not telling me ahead of time of an extra charge. That, I don't like yet. But I have to research myself. I would say that was not good. They did good on quality. The way the bill came was not professional."

"I am extremely pleased with the quality of work, professionalism and follow-up demonstrated by the owner (Charles Green) and his team. We have used G&G several times over the years, although this was the first really big job we had. Mr. Green helped with difficult questions and issues I had initially getting the fair market value from my insurance company. Also G&G recommended sub-contractors to do our tile and plumbing work which did a great job as well. I will definitely use G&G again and would highly recommend this company."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

By careful planning and reinforcement to maintain structural integrity.

While framing a basement is not as difficult as finishing a basement, it's something you should typically leave to the pros. That’s because if something is installed correctly, it will affect your entire basement. However, you can take care of some of the smaller tasks, like filling holes or putting up some insulation.

Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.

When hanging a door frame, it’s recommended that you use screws, not nails. Screws are more secure, easier to tighten, and easier to remove if you need to adjust the frame. On average, the cost to replace a door frame is about $400, but you can save on labor costs if you’re confident in your ability to DIY the project.

Yes, a one-story house can have a load-bearing wall. The load-bearing walls in a single-story home are usually the exterior walls. If the house has a basement with exposed walls, the arrangement of the beams can help indicate what walls are load-bearing.
