"The weekend M&M Painting completed an exterior painting project at my primary residence. Rotted wood and siding was replaced, pressure washing of driveway and siding walk, gutter cleaning was done along with painting of the entire house. "Dante did the job exactly as discussed for a great price. He showed up on time and had one helper. They completed the job the same day which included painting shutters, metal garage doors and metal exterior doors. We supplied the primer and paint. After finishing the job they cleaned up everything before they left. Dante’s communication was very good and he and his helper were both very polite."

"Mr. Giles did an incredible job on our home. He built us a brand new deck that’s one of the sturdiest, most impressive additions we’ve made in years — true craftsmanship and pride in his work. Rags used with oil-based stains are highly flammable and can spontaneously combust in the right conditions. To reduce the fire risk, throw them in a metal container after use and add rocks on top to secure them. Add an inch of water and seal the container. Take the rags in the container to a hazardous waste factory as soon as possible.

Your tool of choice ultimately comes down to personal preference. Many DIYers prefer applying stain with a lint-free rag, but others stick with a paint brush or a roller. Wipe the stain and work it into the wood, working with and against the grain. If you’re applying multiple coats, allow the stain to dry for around four hours between coats.
