They never once apologized for making me leave work and wasting a vacation day even though the paperwork showed they were wrong. They didn't clean up any of the scrap pieces they cut off of the vinyl fence install, they left cellophane wrap, candy, and band aid wrappers all around for me to pick up, that my dogs could have choked on. They also never collected any of the 15 softball sized rocks they dug up, just left them in my yard. Customer service was lacking, reached out to the company and still haven't heard back from them in over a week now."

"We engaged Atlanta Builders for a small backsplash project in our kitchen and laundry room with the hope that if all went well we would hire them to remodel our master and upstairs bathrooms. We initially gave them a down payment of $2,750, half of the project cost upfront. Unfortunately, Atlanta Builders did not cost out the materials properly with the Tile Supplier and the new project price went up to $6,250 after we removed a mosaic inset from the backsplash and continued with only the subway tile. The $6,250 represented $1,350 in tile/caulk materials and $4900 in labor and overhead - a project cost over our budget, but we wanted to get the project done -- it had been 6 months. On delivery of the materials, we discovered the subway edging was not included in the materials and labor. We expected the project cost to now increase to between $7,200 to $8,000 for a simple backsplash job. Obviously, we had to cancel the project. We made an offer to Atlanta Builders for them to retain $1,750 of our initial down payment for their time and the cost of the materials in receipt. However, Atlanta Builders kept the $2,750, now defined as a contractual 'deposit.' We're out $2,750, but consider ourselves lucky having not signed a contract with Atlanta Builders for the master and upstairs bathroom project."

Removing fence posts that are set in concrete is something you can't do by hand. You will need an excavator, a strong post-puller, or a jackhammer. If you plan on recycling the concrete base, you may be able to cut the post out with a jackhammer and then set the new post in the existing base. However, it's usually better to remove both the fence post and concrete together. Due to the weight of concrete, you will need a hydraulic removal tool.

Concrete is one of the easiest, most cost-efficient, and most effective ways to stabilize a fence post. To stabilize a fence post with concrete, you’ll dig a hole around the post in question and fill it up with concrete—easy as that. Concrete lasts about 50 years on average, so it’s a long-term solution.

Green branches are more flexible and easier to work with, but they'll shrink as they dry, which can loosen your fence weave over time—so you'll need to weave them extra tight to account for shrinkage. Some species, particularly willow, may also try to sprout when used green. For these reasons, it’s typically easiest to use branches that have dried for a week or two.

The best wood for a farm fence is pressure-treated wood that will stand up to various weather conditions, animal contact, and moisture. Farm fences need to resist rot and damage, so choose a species such as cedar or redwood. The natural oils in these woods give them decay resistance, which also makes them ideal for other fence types, such as a wooden snow fence.

Posts for a horizontal fence should be no more than 6 feet apart. Wood pickets are not as strong when mounted horizontally as when mounted vertically. As such, the fence panels on a horizontal fence can’t cover the same span between posts as a vertical fence can. If you install the posts further apart on a horizontal fence, the fence will lose stability, making the boards more likely to sag.
