"My partner Steve and I hired Crawlspaces and More to work on our crawlspace issues. We had an unlevel floor in one of our bedrooms, we had excess moisture and mold on the wood in our subfloor of that particular bedroom. So the crew came out to our house right on schedule and got busy solving our problems. The floor was leveled with jacks, the mold remediation was done, and we got a vapor barrier throughout the crawlspace, which helps with excess moisture in our house as well. We were very pleased with the work done by Crawlspaces and More. Yes the job was expensive, but they worked with us and the final result was a small fraction of what we Could have been charged, had we hired Trotter or Aqua Guard or any of the other well-known foundation repair companies. Crawlspaces and More lived up to their promises. I Highly recommend them to anyone who needs this type of work done to their home."

"My family and I are very pleased with the products and services Everdry has provided to our house in Woodstock, GA. Way back in 2005 (with the previous owner) Everdry waterproofed the basement and additionally reinforced one of the basement walls with carbon fiber. After seeing how well everything has continued to perform over time we had them reinforce a separate wall right after we purchased the house in 2014. It's been just about 5 years since then and the waterproofing and the reinforced walls have had no issues whatsoever. Our basement is bone dry and solid. TG"

Customers say: True professional

"Raphael and his crew gave a very competitive estimate, showed up on time and on the date requested. They removed all the old materials and took them away, then formed in and poured a new concrete walk and steps to our requirements and finished it nicely. They cleaned up the area to our satisfaction. We will use R B concrete again for future restorations."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

It’s best not to perform mudjacking in the winter unless the ground temperature remains above freezing. Freezing temperatures can cause the slurry to harden too quickly, compromising its strength and longevity. Concrete is also more susceptible to cracking and splitting in cold temperatures, so there’s a higher risk of damaging the slab during the drilling and lifting process in winter.

There is no real alternative to underpinning, although mudjacking and polyjacking are other repair methods that can add support from underneath your foundation. Rather than placing supportive piers under your structure, these involve pumping a material under your slab to lift a sunken section back into its original position. Polyjacking, in particular, is sometimes a suitable solution for stabilization issues under slab foundations, but underpinning is often accepted as the best and most permanent solution.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The total drying time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it needs to harden fully to prevent the concrete slab from shifting under added weight. You should avoid walking on the concrete or placing heavy items like furniture or vehicles on the surface until it has fully set. Your concrete contractor can provide a precise timeline. As a point of comparison, if you opt for polyjacking, the polyurethane foam can dry in minutes, but it's recommended to wait about an hour before use.

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.

Polyjacking can be a permanent solution to sunken concrete if you also address the underlying issue—like poor drainage—at the same time. The polyurethane material itself can last as long as or even outlast the concrete you’re lifting it with. Your sunken concrete issue will likely return if you don’t couple polyjacking with proper drainage to prevent future soil movement and sinking.
