"I can’t say enough about the amazing job Phoenix Custom Woodworking and Furniture did! My kitchen cabinets are 20 years old, and they were starting to stick and feel worn out. After the repair, they open and close perfectly—just like when the house was new! Mattwas friendly, and clearly takes pride in his work. If you want someone who truly cares about quality, call Phoenix Custom Woodworking and Furniture!"

"I had a difficult small space to install a closet as efficiently and spacious as possible. Reliant works, came in and made great suggestions and quickly and efficiently follow through with this beautiful design that looks professionally done and was established within a few hours. The workers were friendly and kept everything clean. Communication was great and the price was amazing. I felt that the materials and the hours worked stayed within my budget. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again.."

"We had a large painting job and bid the project to multiple companies. The Painting Company was very competitive on price. Though their bid was not the absolute lowest, their team gave us the most confidence they would deliver the best product for the best price. The project was split into two phases. Phase I was to refinish and paint our kitchen cabinets. The original color was a yellowish brown and The Painting Company crew turned them white in three days. The pictures say it all. Phase II was to repair our walls and paint our entire town home. And, when I say entire I mean it. The team painted all walls, ceilings, trim, built-in cabinetry, inside closets, stair safety rails any anything else you can imagine. It was a big job - to say the least. If you are like us, you are looking for a painter/contractor who can deliver the best combination of price, value and service. Regarding price, they are competitive. You'll likely find a less expensive alternative and if this is your #1 focus, do it. However, on the value side, The Painting Company will be challenging to beat. The final product they delivered was impressive and we seriously don't recognize our own home it looks so good. Finally, The Painting Company really differentiated itself on the service side. The four people I worked with the most (Jason in sales, Lisa in billing, Connor in production management and Javier the painting foreman) went above and beyond in making the process seamless. The painting crew (let by Javier) was punctual, professional, conscientious and really, really good painters. The team even stayed really late on the last night to ensure the job was done right by us. It was evident they cared more about our overall satisfaction than their Saturday night. Do your homework and call a few companies to bid the job. However, if you value price, value and service I bet you'll pick The Painting Company in the end."

Closets questions, answered by experts

Custom closet renovations offer a return on investment of 50% to 60%. This means that if you spend $2,000 on a closet remodel, you can expect to see your home's value increase by $1,000 to $1,200. Investing in a custom closet allows you to enhance your daily living experience while building equity.

If you’re on a tight budget, the least expensive material you can buy for DIY closet shelves is chipboard, a.k.a. particle board. This inexpensive material is made from a pulp of sawdust, resin, and glue that’s pressed together under high temperature and pressure. As you can imagine, it’s not very sturdy and might buckle under your blue jean collection, so you should only use it if you’re storing very light items.

Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.

You can budget a little less money for how to build a closet with wire shelves than with wood shelves. Some people don’t like the aesthetics that wire shelves provide, though, meaning they’ll gladly spend a little more to add wood shelves to the build. If you decide to buy pre-made wire shelves instead of building custom-sized wood shelves, you’ll be restricted in the closet shelving dimensions you can use.

Hanging and folding clothes are efficient ways to pack your clothes during a move. When choosing a packing method, consider the type of clothing you’re packing. For example, clothing such as dresses, suits, blouses, and items made of silk and similar fabrics are ideal for hangers. On the other hand, it’s easier to fold pants, shorts, t-shirts, thick sweaters, and more.
