"Calvin at Guardian Gas Solutions was superb in getting our new gas range hooked up to the propane tank. He was professional, respectful of our home and time frame, and did a thorough and careful job. Tonya, in the office, was so efficient in keeping us up to date on paperwork and needs from our end. All in all, an excellent 10 out of 10!"

"They did an excellent job putting in the patio with screen enclosure. All workers showed up on time and were friendly and polite. All aspects of the job were smooth, from initial contact and estimate from the owner, to completion date. I recommend them.

"The estimator, Dominick, came out on a Saturday morning. We really appreciated this because of my and my wife's work schedules it's the only day we could both be there. He spent a fair amount of time with us and had some great ideas for our remodel. The problem is, we never received an estimate. I replied back to him on several occasions through text, phone and emails, always with the promise that it would be either the end of the week or the beginning of next week. Well, it's been two months now... I told him we weren't in a huge rush to get this done so if it took a couple weeks to get back to us it was no big deal. I'm no longer in the market for a new kitchen now so it doesn't really even matter. I at least wanted to make sure everyone knew about this. I have no idea about their workmanship or pricing but everyone I received an estimate from was around $25-30k."

"My neighbor recommended Morgan Exteriors for our storm shutters. I submitted a request for a quote online and my request was answered right away. We recently had the pleasure of working Fred Hyden from Morgan Exteriors , he was prompt, friendly very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We decided to move forward with the work as we felt confident in their business, their workmanship and their product. I look forward to seeing the job complete as I am positive from our meeting they will do an amazing job."

"PegC Kitchen Remodel Our experience with S & W was 100% positive from beginning to end! Our Kitchen Designer from the Winter Park/Orlando location was Carol T***** and our Superintendent was Davin J*******, both were excellent, very knowledgeable and responsive. Along with Carol, Griffin was very influential in our decision to go with S & W for our kitchen remodel. All would return calls immediately and were readily available as needed. They were responsive if change orders were requested and didn’t try to nickel and dime us. They always followed up to see that the change orders were accomplished. They had a positive attitude, promoted S & W in every way, yet looked out for our best interests in all aspects. We were (are) very happy and satisfied with the completed job S & W Kitchens performed for us. It was done in a timely manner and all workers were very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. They showed up on time, did their job and moved on to their next appointment. We definitely would use S & W Kitchens again. We appreciate their professionalism!"

The cost of home remodeling is $50,000 for the average homeowner. However, this cost can range anywhere from $3,000 for a small project to $170,000 for a whole home remodel. Factors like project size, location, and room type all affect your overall cost. For example, bedroom remodeling costs are one of the least expensive projects, costing about $1,500 to $5,500 per bedroom. However, a kitchen remodel has a significant cost range, totaling anywhere from $14,500 to over $70,000.
Typically, most appliances last anywhere from 10 to 15 years, depending on the appliance, brand, and amount of use. Keeping a regular maintenance schedule, including cleaning and tune-ups, also helps appliances last longer. Dryers, gas stoves, and refrigerators tend to last the longest, averaging about 13 to 15 years. Microwaves and dishwashers tend to last about 10 years on average.
Yes, most states require home remodeling contractors to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed home remodeling contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
The best time of year to remodel your home is late winter and early spring when fewer homeowners are thinking about projects and pros are more available. Also consider the type of remodel you want and plan ahead as much as possible. For example, the summer is a great time of year to update your fireplace, but winter is a better option for fixing foundations and building room additions.
The cost of home appliances ranges from $350 to $8,000 or more, depending on the brand, type of appliance, and features. Additional cost factors include any hookups that need to be installed, such as gas, plumbing, or electrical. Keep in mind that major appliances, such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, and water heaters, will cost more than minor appliances, such as microwaves, due to the size, complexity, and essential nature of the item.
