The ladies at the office Rose and Erika were right, he made me feel so good; even after the estimate. And when we finally got to the part of doing the work; Darren the pluming specialist was amazing!! Fast, polite, clean and neat! "Romain?s Plumbing & Drain Service is the absolute best plumbing & drain company in South Florida. Romain is honest, professional, and takes exceptional care in his work to permanently fix all your plumbing and drainage issues. He is very fair with his prices and he takes pride in his work with high quality repairs. I had a water leak that left me without running water in my house for 2 weeks because of a very bad experience with a different plumbing company. When I first contacted Romain he squeezed me into his schedule that same day so that I would have running water again. He repaired both leaks, replaced the drywall, changed out the water valves, and installed a new vanity. I can?t thank Romain enough for their hard work in fixing the leak and getting everything back up and running and replaced so quickly and skillfully. I wish I had an electrician and hvac repairman like Romain because he was so exceptional in his work. If you ever need a plumber please contact Romain!"

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Unlike regular cleanings, snaking your sewer line should be done as needed. There’s no reason to snake your sewer line if you don’t have any noticeable issues, like slow drainage or plugged drains. You can add it to your regular sewer cleaning checklist as a prevention method (on the same 18- to 22-month schedule), but it’s not always necessary.

Thankfully, it’s pretty rare to find a rat in your toilet. It’s more likely in larger cities with big sewer systems that can be feeding grounds for rats, but even then, you still shouldn’t fret.

“I wouldn’t worry too much about rats coming up through the sewers,” Bradshaw says. “I’d say only one out of a thousand rodent customers we get actually have this problem. And of the 20 or some customers that have had this happen, they’ve all only had just one rat come up this way.”

There are several common signs that your main sewer line may be clogged. Key indicators include multiple fixtures in your home draining slowly, gurgling sounds coming from drains or toilets, and water backing up into showers, sinks, or toilets. You might also notice water backing up from the plumbing system's drain cleanout, water in your basement drain, or unexplained wet patches on your lawn. Foul odors, such as the smell of raw sewage or rotten eggs, are another common symptom. The most reliable way to confirm a main sewer line clog is to hire a professional plumber to perform a camera inspection.

If methods like hot water or a plunger don’t work on your clogged drain, you can snake your drain to dislodge the plug. This can be a messy process, taking some physical effort and additional time over the other drain-clearing options. You can purchase a drain snake at a hardware store and choose from handheld options or those attached to a drill. Just work slowly, and be ready to call a plumber if you’re unable to reach the clog from your drain or P-trap.

This depends on the location of the blockage. If the blockage is in your home’s system, anywhere in the system, it is your responsibility as a homeowner. Blockages seldom happen because of items or buildup coming from the city, which means it originates in the home. It becomes the city’s responsibility at the exact point your home’s line distributes waste into the city’s system. The exception is if the problem in your home damages the city lines.
