"Nickerson did a terrific job with my luxury vinyl kitchen floor installation. They should up on time, worked efficiently and cleaned up the job site when they were finished. They took the time & extra effort to ensure the floor was level before they started with final product. There were a couple areas that needed some extra work. This was a great experience and a very fair price. Look no further for a great installer!"

"Alex and crew did a terrific job. While I selected the glass tile, they arranged for almost everything else. They used high quality materials and paid attention to details. My new kitchen backsplash looks great. This was a difficult job as there were cabinet valances and many electric plug openings plus a large opening to another room that had to be dealt with by framing it carefully with the tile all around. During installation I was unhappy with one aspect of the work. They examined the problem and without hesitation said they would do what it takes to make it right. In this day and age that is a rare thing. They did this work for a fair price. While some underbid them, you get what you pay for. Would I use them for my tile or flooring future needs yes, I would."

Small jobs welcome

"Darin restored my master shower to new condition. The finished appearance surpassed my greatest expectations. His team also replaced several broken tiles and color coated the grout lines throughout my home, dramatically improving the look in all the rooms. He and his team listened to my requirements and exceeded every one of them. Based on these results I certainly recommend The Grout Doctor team. Darin, thanks again for superlative results!"

"LoveMyFloors did an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G job on our floors. We had the old porcelain tile floors torn out and new, random plank tile floors, put in throughout the house, they could not have turned out better! Joe is wonderful to work with and Aaron is a master at tile laying, to say the least. Enrique did a wonderful job as well. We are just so thrilled with how our floors turned out. We would highly recommend LoveMyFloors and already have!!!!! Dave & Lisa - Palm Harbor"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

If you want your ceramic tiles to be evenly spaced and installation to take less time, spacers are a crucial part of the installation process.

Tile countertops can be an excellent and budget-friendly option for a kitchen, provided they are installed correctly. It's important to choose tiles, such as ceramic, that are heat-, water-, and scratch-resistant. When the grout is properly sealed, it will resist stains, making the surface easy to clean. Tile is also considered a sustainable material. For a cohesive kitchen design and added protection, you can pair a tile countertop with a matching tile backsplash.

Yes, it’s possible to cut tile without a wet saw; instead, you can use an angle grinder, a glass cutter, a snap cutter, tile nippers, or a rotary tool with a tile-cutting blade. A manual tile cutter or snap cutter works well for the larger tiles that wet saws are typically used for, while smaller projects might just require nippers or a glass cutting wheel. If you’re working with large quantities of tile, however, power tools are best.

Yes, you can tile a shower as a DIY project, and you can save hundreds of dollars in labor costs by doing so. However, you’ll need to rent or buy quite a few tools and supplies for the job, including a saw, tile nippers, and a new shower pan. In terms of the work itself, you should be prepared to tackle a variety of different tasks, including measuring and ordering materials, removing old tile, waterproofing the wall, adding rows of tile, grouting, and more.

Ceramic tile adheres best with premixed adhesive or mortar. If you’re installing the tile in an area with moisture, such as a bathroom or kitchen, opt for waterproof adhesive, and if you choose mortar, make sure it’s thick because that is the easiest to work with and ensures the tiles will sit flat.
