"my sprinkler system was down and i needed help. called flow motion for a quote. Rylee was so hepfull in setting that up for me. Anthony arrived at the specified time, and I could tell he was ready to get started figuring out my issue. there were several problems, one being a bad pump start relay and some old wiring issues. Anthony returned with all the new parts and wiring and got my system running again! Anthony and Rylee make a great team and are very professional and courteous. so, if you need a great irrigation company, don't hesitate to call flow motion irrigation, you won't be disappointed!"

"Ryan showed up on time. Walked and reviewed the operation of the sprinkler. Noted deficiencies, rendered a fair estimate and fixed everything including a new valve, 3 heads, adjusted 9 others and fixed a leaking pipe. Very satisfied with the service from start to finish."

"C&B Services did an outstanding job on our sod installation and the addition of new sprinkler zones. The quality of the work was excellent from start to finish. The sod was installed cleanly and evenly, the sprinkler zones were thoughtfully laid out, and the site was left clean and well organized. Communication was clear, timelines were met, and the crew was professional and efficient throughout the process. I would absolutely recommend C&B Services to anyone looking for high-quality landscaping and irrigation work."

"Blake Richards is awesome to work with - from the first day he gave the initial estimate to our ongoing yard maintenance. In addition to lawn mowing and edging, Blake dethatched our lawn and delivered and spread top soil to reseed bare spots in the yard. He is a positive, professional, reliable, and knowledgeable landscaper. He cares as much about our lawn as we do and our lawn looks so good! We highly recommend Blake Richards for any lawn services you may need."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

While it’s possible to grow grass seeds by throwing them down, this isn’t the best way to plant them. By amending and prepping the soil beforehand, you’re providing optimal contact between seed and soil for a better chance at germination. If you throw them down without preparing the soil beforehand, seeds are more likely to blow away, get eaten by hungry birds, or never grow.

Some grass types grow better than others on hard dirt. For example, hardy grass types like perennial ryegrass and Kentucky bluegrass will grow better on tough soil. Keep in mind that you should still consider your area’s climate when deciding on a grass type.

There are a few ways to fix your lawn on a budget, including:

  • Identify the lawn care problem and learn how to seed, fertilize, and aerate your lawn.

  • Reseed old, damaged lawn with new grass that fares better in your environment.

  • Remove grass from your yard so you no longer need to worry about lawn care costs.

Many homeowners in warmer climates like this resilient, hearty grass because it can tolerate excessive heat and drought while developing into a lush lawn. Unlike other grasses, Bermuda grass grows and spreads quickly and can withstand excessive foot traffic. But whether Bermuda grass is good for lawns may depend on your geographic location, as this grass has a low tolerance for cooler temperatures, which causes it to go dormant and turn brown in the winter months.

Having a luscious lawn won’t take a century to grow with hydroseeding—most hydroseed lawns sprout within 7 to 14 days. Once the new grass is about 4 inches tall, which is about six weeks after the installation, it’s ready to mow. After the initial mow, keep foot traffic at a minimum for another four weeks to solidify the rooting system.
