McGuire's Beautiful Outdoors

This is the most unhonorable company I have ever used. We have been paying $163 a month for lawn care/fertilization. Our front yard was maintained but the back was clearly not given the same attention. We had new sod installed in a portion of our backyard in Feb 2023 and were told they "knew how to handle new sod" and they would make sure it was treated properly. In May/June we noticed the sod started to turn brown/yellow. We notified McGuire of the issue immediately and finally someone came out to notify us of having to adjust our watering and that they "treated it". In July the lawn crew came to mow and my husband asked them if they could take care of the weeds we had growing in our new sod. To which they replied "sure we can do that". I watched them outback with a spray pump and within 2 days the grass had large patches that completely killed the grass. We have been in contact with them about these issues and they "looked into it". We were told that the lawn crew did not spray anything and that they don't even have spray pumps to carry around. So now I am a liar?? Why would I lie about something like this?? What an awful thing to do to a customer who has been paying you $163 a month to not even do the job properly. Several times they have had to come back because they couldn't even mow the grass properly. They would use a weed whacker instead of bringing the mower to the back. They would miss several spots, weeds in flower bed etc. They would come out after we put in a ticket but why would I even have to bother making sure the service I am paying for is done and done right? Ridiculous. I should have listened to the previous negative reviews. Now they want me to pay for KILLING my grass. Grass that I worked hard to pay for. Obviously they do not care. Especially when people will continue to pay these high amounts for a 10min half done job. I don't know what happened to customer service but it surely doesn't exist here. PLEASE TAKE YOUR SERVICE ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After multiple other companies trying, we finally found a company that knows what they're doing and has gotten our lawn lush and green. They provided fantastic Irrigation repairs to our system initially and took over the fertilization and regular treatment of our lawn as well. Our lawn finally looks the way we want and have been trying to get it to for some time. Our neighbors ask who we use, as did our guy who mows, commenting how much thicker and greener our yard is now. Thank you McGuire's!!!

This has been my ongoing battle with Mcguires Lawn Service in The Tampa bay area Guess they didn't see these either. The last straw was when they left my back yard Wide open, they propped open the gate and never closed or locked it. My 83 yr old mother in law was home by herself. Thank God nothing happened to her. Now I'm told that they lost both of my keys that we entrusted to them. Hopefully there going to replace them for us. More to come...

The person who provided our lawn service for the past 5 years retired and sold his business to another lawn care company. We were not pleased with the quality of service the new company provided.  We talked with several of our neighbors to find out which lawn service they used and if they were happy with their service.  We selected 4 companies to call, but only McGuire's and one other company responded to our calls and e-mails.  We scheduled appointments for someone from each lawn service to come to our house and give us an estimate. McGuire's provided the most comprehensive proposal and provided us with a folder that contained a full description of their services. Their cost was higher than the other proposal we received, but McGuire's included lawn, tree and shrub fertilization and pest control. The total cost was close to what we had been paying for these services. The reviews for McGuire's that I read on Angie's List were not the best, but the neighbors we had talked with that used them were very satisfied. We decided to give them a try.  They have been taking care of our property for about a month now, and we have been very pleased.  The people who do the work are courteous and professional,  take the time to keep us informed about what they are doing, and are very responsive to any special requests we may make. Billing is done online and they accept credit cards.  The office staff has been very friendly and helpful. 

We have had lawn care from McGuire's for over five years. In the first few years the service was amazing. As the years went on they and they grew we watched our service go from bad to awful. We reached out to them on a few different occasions to correct the issues. We were loyal, we wanted to continue service with them. The manager came out about a year ago and clearly saw the damage to our lawn. He told us of a plan to correct, it was never put in place. They continue to break our curbing, burn our grass, not trim brushes and trees as agreed upon. We would even walk out to talk with them as they were working with request, response would be we don't have time this week. Best thing we did was give notice and leave this company, wish we would have done it sooner. We see a remarkable difference in our lawn in a short time.

Scott the salesman had a very nice looking brochure and service offering.  Unfortunately, nothing went right from the beginning.  The crew was never informed about the list of services we signed up for, yet this is on their brochure... They would show up for 10-13 minutes some weeks, others for 30-45 minutes.  The services were very inconsistent.  50% of the time they would edge half the sidewalk or driveway.  They rarely performed weeding of the beds as promised, and the hedging was never even.  They would set down blowers and trimmers on the lawn and burn the area with the heat from the mufflers.  When they did edge, they cut back so much turf that I ended up replacing sod near the patio entrances and walkways myself.
They were told to leave our citrus and bottlebrush (Callistemon) alone.  We arrived home one night to find our beautiful weeping tree trimmed into a lollipop.  They just could not follow directions (or understand them).
We went back and forth with them for 6 months, each time with the usual apologies, excuses and requests for us to be patient.  The owner Eric admitted to having resource problems, which explains why we had 3 different crews during that time.   
The straw that broke the camel's back was when Doug came unannounced to our house and proceeded to pick a fight with my wife.  He started by telling her everything looked great.   When she pointed out all the problems he became all defensive, telling her he was "Schooled" in this work and she was just a housewife.  He actually said that we need a gardener and not a landscaper, and that McGuire's never should have taken this job to begin with. 
The back office is just as ridiculous to deal with.  Cheryl, the "V.P. of Administration" will not reply to requests for days.  When they missed a visit, I was told that we would be credited.  She never credited us until I called and made 3 requests.  I was finally told she issued credit "as a courtesy".  Since when do you bill for services you do not perform, and then issue credit as a "courtesy"?
Long story short is they will sell you a nice looking package and give you all the lip service you can take, but they do not show up and put the effort in.  The quality issues are a direct result of bad labor and laziness.  The fact that they have fired 2 crews in the 6 months we had them proves my point.  There are many service providers in our area, you do not need to stay with a company that does not perform quality work and then bills you for work they never do.

I have used McGuire's Beautiful Outdoors for a couple years, the service was great for the first year and a half. They recently fired the crew that took care of our lawn and have replaced them with a group of unqualified personnel(there words).

Mowing, keeping flower beds clear of weeds, treated all hedges, trimmed hedges, cleaned up thoroughly. I've been so impressed with their professionalism since I hired them in August, I have also asked them to plant an extra row of hedges against a new fence line I have. They are quick, efficient, and clean. Office staff is wonderfully responsive.

They were recommended by Angie's List. They came by last Thursday and then came Tuesday and sprayed. So far we are happy with their services. If there was something we questioned they did it without arguing. They said they would be here on a Friday but instead it was the next Monday or Tuesday. I would say their responsiveness is good. They just come by when they are servicing the neighborhood.

When the paver employee came out on Friday, I immediately felt like I had a problem. I took pictures of his work whenever the paver employee was not around, due to Eric's suggestion. When the paver guy left for Home Depot to get parts, I called Eric and he immediately called me back. We discussed the problem and Eric walked me through on how to handle the situation. Mind you, this is not McQuires problem to solve. Due to Eric's suggestions and taking time to provide me with the knowledge, I was able to contact the paver owner and provide detail and pictures. I think Eric from McQuires went above and beyond and I have learned to appreciate and recognize, professional, quality service!

I was in Miami, FL getting ready for a Dr's appointment. My wife was with me, and we had left my 87 year old mother in law alone at our home in Tampa, FL. As I was getting dressed, my mother in law called to tell me that a faucet in the front yard had burst, and we had a 6 foot geyser of water spraying the front walk and the lawn, filling the gutter and running down the street. She went to each of our neighbors, and the ones who were home could not shut off the water.
The only thing I could think of was to call McGuires, our landscaping company. They have always taken such good care of us, going above and beyond without ever being asked. This time, I called the customer service line, and explained our situation. We didn't even know if the crew was close, as our lawn day is Thursday, and this was Monday.
The girl at the desk told me she would make some calls, and see what they could do. The next call was from Mom, who was looking out the front window watching a McGuires employee not only shut off the water, but repair the break in the pipe. All I expected was to get the water turned off, but, again, they went above and beyond.
We've been with McGuires since 2009, and will never switch. Our neighbors tell us our yard looks like something out of and quot;Home and Garden,and quot; they never miss a visit, and they treat us and our yard as if it were their own.

All went well, tree trimming was excellent, gardens looked as great as they could, entire yard was cleaned of debris and mowed.

They are out full service lawn company. We have a very big yard and they perform great service. We are very happy with them and they are wonderful.

I have lived in Florida for 19 years, and could only keep a landscaper for a couple of years (some even less) before they began ruining our yard and plants. They never did anything extra, never knocked on the door or left a note to advise of any problems, or took the time to walk the yard with me to make sure we were satisfied with thei work.
McGuires is always on time, unless the weather stops them. Even then, they get here as soon as they can and are super careful not to damage the grass with their heavy equipment. They trim every week, weed, edge and mow. Their fertilizeer guy is here at least once a month, and leaves a detailed list of what he did and how we need to follow up with watering. They repair the sprinklers if they damage them, and do the same with the lighting. They are a full service company and treat us like they want to keep our busineess. Our yard is the best liiking on the street, because they take the time to do their jobs.

As a rather skeptical person by nature, when Eric Robinson casually said that his team would be in and out within a day or perhaps a day and a half, I had my doubts, especially considering the amount of work that was going to be needed to transform the yard. The crew arrived around 8:00am on Thursday and by 4:30pm had completed the primary work. This included stripping the yard, relocating two trees to better locations (the third tree was discarded) leveling the grade, installing the irrigation, planting, and finishing the beds with crushed shells, and installing the lighting. If that weren't enough, they also altered the original design to accommodate a few changes we wanted without fuss or bother. Additional work (not mentioned earlier) included installing path lighting along the walkway on the north side of the home, accent lighting on an existing bed near the front door, and building up the area inside the gate to the backyard with crushed shells and stepping stones. Lighting also included installation inside the screened lanai to provide light throughout the screened area. The only work that was not completed in one day was the work around the gate area, which was finished in about an hour the next morning.
From my first contact with the office staff through the completion of the work, I was treated very professionally, no matter what the situation. The crew that performed the work -- although surprising young -- were incredibly knowledgeable, efficient, courteous, and personable. Even with a design misunderstanding, which will require more work, Eric and the team readily acknowledged the differences, and have scheduled the work at no additional cost to us.
All in all, this is one professional association that was nothing short of extraordinary in every aspect of the experience, from first contact through completion of the project!
