"Called Kenny based off the reviews here. Arrived as scheduled, inspected the roof and the damage to the ceiling in the bedroom and was able to get the roof repaired the following day. He also recommended someone to fix the bedroom ceiling. Both jobs were completed to satisfaction."

"Dieter is very knowledgeable about fixing and repairing things. He quickly fixed a tricky problem with a door that would not close correctly. He came with his assistant and they completed repairs on many small jobs I had with skill and efficiency..He showed up on the day we had agreed too and called me ahead to let me know he was coming. I was very happy with the work and the price and will hire him again."

"We recently renovated our kitchen and the contractor we used was unreliable, unprofessional and did a terrible job. Because we had a negative experience with a contractor we interviewed numerous companies before painting. We found John DeRose on Angies list and contacted several of his references. We chose John DeRose because he was highly recommended, seemed knowledgeable and was responsive to our questions and concerns. His price was competitive but fair for the work contemplated. We only intended to paint a few rooms but after Mr. DeRose started the job we decided to paint the entire house and garage because his work was not only excellent but his work ethic was refreshing. His crew showed up each day on time and worked more than a full day or what would be expected. Each day Mr. DeRose went through the house with me to be sure it was complete and to my satisfaction. When i decided a color did not please me, the work was re-done with a smile. If an area of a wall or room needed repair before painting, it was repaired without me having to ask. The faux painter used by Mr. DeRose was also excellent and very creative. The crew was very polite and each day they cleaned up the house before they left. They were courteous, professional and did a terrific job. I can honestly say that I would use them again and highly recommend them. Feel free to contact me for a reference. "We could not be happier. Jamie Basilio of Champion Concrete and pools was fantastic. My wife and I have made extensive renovations on 3 homes and have worked with many contractors for various projects. We have seldom had such a positive experience like we had working with Champion. Working with Jamie was refreshing. Vary fair. Delivered as promised and then some. His workers were polite and professional. But most of all, He really listened to what we wanted. We wanted a mud set Dominican Coral stone floor and remodeled pool.. We really could not find a positive reference from anyone so we turned to Angieslist and started interviewing companies. We interviewed several pool builders and several deck /flooring companies. All the pool companies would insist that I should use travertine pavers set on sand. And flooring professionals would tell me mud set installations on concrete would be much better . This left us feeling very unsure. We thought we would have to hire the pool company to strictly remodel the pool and the flooring company to do the flooring in order to get the installation that we wanted in the material that we wanted. Finally i met Jamie and fortunately he had the know how and the crew which could do the mud set deck and the pool remodel at a better overall price. We noticed that everyone that actually hired him had given him fantastic reviews. Now I know they were well deserved. Everything went exactly as promised and changes that we requested were arranged for with little or no incremental cost. If you want a no nonsense, high integrity guy, hire Jamie Basilio of Champion Concrete and pools. You will not regret it. Edward and Myriam Pinecrest Florida"

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

Routine cleaning, sealing/staining, and inspection prolong deck life and appearance.

Floating decks are a cost-effective and versatile option, but they come with some compromises. Since they sit on smaller footings instead of being deeply anchored, they’re more likely to shift over time, especially in areas with heavy rainfall or freeze-thaw conditions. Their low-to-the-ground design makes them more susceptible to moisture buildup and potential water damage.

PVC decking might be long-lasting, but this synthetic material lacks the natural aesthetic or sustainability of wood decking. If you want to match your decking to your new garden furniture or just freshen up the faded surface, it’s not usually possible to paint PVC decking. When comparing PVC to composite decking, PVC is pricier and more prone to warping in hot regions.

Yes, it is possible to add an under-deck drainage system to an existing deck by retrofitting it to the structure. This process may require some prep work. For example, many drainage systems are installed on top of the deck joists, which would require you to remove the decking boards and railings first. To avoid this, you could opt for a below-the-joist drainage system. For best results and to ensure proper installation, it is recommended to consult a professional. A pro can inspect your deck, make any necessary repairs, and then install the drainage system correctly.

The best way to clean your decking is to clear debris from the gaps between the boards, sweep the surface, rinse it, apply cleaner, rinse again, and let it dry fully. A homemade deck cleaner made of two gallons of warm water and 1/2 cup vinegar is a simple cleaning solution for both wood and composite decking. You can sprinkle baking soda on any spots with mold or mildew, then scrub the area and rinse clean.
