Customers say: True professional

"Ryan and Dave were very professional and got the job done within the time frame they told me. They were transparent with their pricing and didn’t add on anything at the end. I initially hired them to move me between apartments and when they did such a good job I continued using their services. They hung two TVs for me and ran the cables through the wall so that it has a clean look and also hung up pictures on the walls for me. I am definitely planning on hiring them for any future projects."

Small jobs welcome

Hi there, my name is Mitch Pazanski!\n\nI grew up doing home renovations with my father ever since I can remember. Now, I have been working for a contractor in Palm Beach County for the last several years doing kitchen, home and bath renovations.\n\nI have a strong working knowledge of all of the trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, as well as drywall, painting, flooring installation and finishing work.\n\nWhile I genuinely enjoy all of the work I do, I specialize in drywall install/ repair/ mudding, texture matching and finishing work such as painting, base board, door trims, crown molding installation.\n\nEveryone “knows someone cheaper”… and I have spent years fixing other people’s sketchy, unskilled and dangerous *but* cheaper work, which is why I guarantee all of my projects.\n\nSchedule an appointment with me today and find out what quality work looks like!

"When we first called Carl for a garage shelving estimate, he said he was in the area and would be by within an hour. We talked with him about what we'd like to have built and where we'd like it. He completely understood our needs, asked some intelligent questions, gave some valuable advice, and gave a good estimate for labor costs. He'd buy and bring the material to do the job and provide us with the receipt so we could reimburse him. We set a date for the next week. He arrived on time along with his adult son and all the materials he had bought for us plus all of his work gear. They set to work unloading our garage shelves (most of which were already containerized and boxed) into the middle of the garage floor. They worked very hard and very smart. The shelving was done perfectly on all three sides of the garage exactly like we had requested. They loaded our new shelves back up exactly where we wanted things and left some for us to do on our own at our request. They were very courteous, kind, efficient, and did an outstanding job. We've already asked Carl to come back and do some work for the interior of our home.

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

Concrete blocks are the cheapest way to base a shed. However, the space in between allows critters to go under, burrow, and even damage your shed’s frame. For a more pest-proof option, consider building a shed base with gravel or paver stones. Both options are fairly affordable and easy enough for a DIY project. For gravel, you can build a wooden frame to contain the loose material.

Your foundation contractor will first need to remove the topsoil and any vegetation within 4 feet of the area around the barn. They’ll need to ensure they have clear access to the site to begin excavation, after which they can begin construction.

Rustic and modern farmhouse styles are currently the most popular. These include rustic and antique furniture, muted colors, clean lines, eclectic decor, and natural materials. Some other popular farmhouse styles include the following:

  • Coastal farmhouse: Creates a lighter, airier feel with soft colors and blue palettes, along with gold

  • Colonial farmhouse: Focuses on real antique furniture and decor

  • French farmhouse: Leans on French country architecture and design by including marble and lighter-colored metals, like zinc

  • Industrial farmhouse: Includes thick, chunky furniture and dark metals

  • Scandinavian farmhouse: Usually includes lighter wood colors and more refined furniture

A steel frame costs 10% to 20% more than a wood frame. Wood is a much easier material to work with, more accessible, and generally more affordable than steel—plus, you need specialized tools to work with steel.

You can use a variety of wood to build a barn door, but the most common options include 1-by boards and 2-by boards for the backing and the decorative boards on the front of the door. Softwoods like pine will save you some money and should hold up well, while hardwoods like maple and oak will stand up to more wear and tear. You could also build the backer out of plywood to minimize the cuts you need to make. Whatever you decide on, make sure the width of the wood is compatible with the mounting brackets you buy.
