"I had the pleasure of working with Salto Angel Insulation for an attic insulation installation, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the results! From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, the experience was seamless and professional. The team arrived on time and was incredibly respectful of my home. They took the time to explain the insulation options available, discussing the benefits of each type and helping me choose the best fit for my needs. Their knowledge and expertise were evident, making me feel confident in my decision. During the installation, the crew worked efficiently and carefully, ensuring that every corner of my attic was properly insulated. They were meticulous in their approach, taking care to clean up after themselves and leaving the space in pristine condition. It was evident that they take great pride in their work. Not only has the insulation made a noticeable difference in regulating the temperature in my home, but I also expect to see significant savings on my energy bills moving forward. It’s a relief to know that I’ve made an investment that will pay off in the long run. Overall, I highly recommend Salto Angel Insulation for attic insulation installation. "I received two phone calls New year's day from two different companies. one of them said they would get back to me later that day with an estimate. the other one called left a voicemail and sent me a text message. so I called Craig from American insulation back. gave him the measurements of my roof over the phone he gave me a price over the phone of what it would cost to do it. I knew the pitch of my roof how many square feet my attic was etc. without going into specifics on cost and price he was $200 less than the estimate I got from treasure coast. love it insulation didn't call me back until the following day. so I scheduled appointment for January 2nd. two guys showed up I still had stuff in my attic while they were setting up their equipment we emptied the Attic. took them all of an hour to spray one end to the other. they put anywhere from 10 to 12 in of insulation all the way across my attic. they cleaned up their mess thoroughly and left nothing behind inside or outside of my home. I have referred American insulation 2 my parents. as they need to have some AC duct work done as well as insulation sprayed in. thanks to Craig for the prompt and courteous service"

"Cardinal Insulation was great! They cleaned out all of the old insulation from my attic and then did a new blown insulation in my attic to R38 and now the house feels so much more even temperature throughout. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with. My FPL bill went down around 15% as well as the AC does not need to work as hard now."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, but the actual temperature that can cause frozen pipes can vary. Generally, it takes 12 hours for pipes to freeze at 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

Uninsulated pipes can freeze if it’s 20 degrees Fahrenheit or colder for over three hours. If your pipes are insulated, it can take six hours or longer for pipes to freeze. Note that some pipe types freeze more often than PEX pipes. Copper pipes freeze more often because the copper conducts energy and loses heat quickly.

For standard 2x4 walls, the ideal insulation has an R-value between R-13 and R-15. This level of insulation, typically around 3.5 inches thick, fits well within the wall cavity. Common options include fiberglass batts and spray foam. The best choice for your home can depend on your climate; use R-value maps, like those from Energy Star, to determine the recommended level for your region. For colder climates, you might also consider adding exterior insulation for greater efficiency. Always check with your local building codes to ensure you meet any required standards.

The lifespan of crawl space insulation depends on how well you maintain your insulation and the type of insulation. Fiberglass will need replacing every 15 to 20 years on average if you don't have a vapor barrier in place. If you do have vapor barriers in place, then your insulation could last much longer. Spray foam insulation can last anywhere from 80 to 100 years.

Modern windows provide enhanced UV protection, improved heat retention, and cooling efficiency, contributing to overall household energy savings.

The best time to insulate a garage ceiling is when the weather is mild and dry. That means it shouldn’t be stormy, snowy, or raining, and the temperatures should be comfortable. Ideally, you’ll insulate your garage ceiling in the fall, before winter hits. Not only will you be the most comfortable, but you’ll also likely see the greatest energy savings heading into the colder weather with a newly insulated garage.
