This is a family owned busy, and you can tell by they way they take pride in their great work. We are renovating an older condo and called Broward Insulation. Spoke to Pauline, she was very responsive and accommodating. Since we do not live in Florida. I gave the ok on the phone, they came did the work and when I arrived all was complete. They fulfilled all my requests. They are very neat, informative, accommodating and fair pricing, with no hidden up charges. Which we have been experiencing a lot here in Florida. Great experience!!!'

Horrible experience. Broward insulation replaced my duct work and added blown in insulation. The first guy that came out left half of the old duct and attached new ducts to the old. I called and complained Jeremiah came out and said that it was done inproperly and he would get the guys to come back out and fix it. After several weeks the guys didn't come and I called and bothered them enough that Jeremiah came himself to do a two man job. He fixed like two of the ducts that were bad and left the rest. Their was barely any airflow in my sons room and there was before when we had the old duct work. He said it was because it was far away from the unit. I didn't believe that. I thought it was leaking but he said it wasn't. It's been two months since he fixed it and of course I painted around the vents and they are turning brown again. I will have to pay someone to fix their mistake. I've been hearing this company used to be good but lately their work is awful. I would love for them to come fixit the right way but I'm not going to beg them as I did last time. I just hope I save someone the headache. My daughter has bad allergies and asthma. I really wanted our duct work to be better. I notice when we run our air the room gets really dusty. I'm sad we wasted over 3k on bad work. I felt broward insulation would have better integrity than they do. Initially Jeremiah seemed so trustworthy and honest. I guess I was wrong. I think that once the first guys left the old duct work elbows and did a lousy job Jeremiah didn't have time or didn't want to bother with it since we already paid him. If it were my company I would have been very apologetic but instead I had to bother them daily to get someone to fix it and it's still wrong! I feel cheated.

Called on them on 1/18 to request an estimate based on the great reviews on Angie's list. They scheduled an appointment for Thursday afternoon. Later that day, a technician called back to reschedule for Friday 1/20 at 7:30 am for which I took the morning off from work. No one showed up. At about 8:00, owner (Jeremiah) called and said miscommunication. Said he could come out around 11:00. I had to go to work but wife was home. Jeremiah came, inspected the attic space and told my wife he would send an estimate on Monday for duct work and insulation job. Monday came and went with no contact. Tuesday, I called Jeremiah. He said he would have it to me by end of day Tuesday. It's Thursday, nearly a week since he came by the house and there has been no contact whatsoever. Radio silence. Needless to say, I'm done with this company. They must be doing exceptionally well to be able to waste time coming out to look at your attic without ever sending you an estimate for repairs. This is a sure sign of a company that is understaffed, disorganized and incapable of meeting commitments. I feel for the small businessman trying to scratch out a living. It must be incredibly difficult. But given this level of customer service, I can see why many small businesses fail. I will not be using this company. Not sure how they've managed to get such rave reviews.

I used Broward Insulation several years ago for duct work and insulation so I immediately thought of them for my neighbor's attic. Much to my surprise, they insulated her attic for FREE! This was such a great relief for her. They did an excellent job, were mindful of her two cats, and left the place clean. This is a great company that is willing to go the extra mile to help someone in need. They get an A+ rating from me.

Broward Insulation was brought to my Palm Beach County complete house rebuild project by SES Foam, the manufacturer of the foam insulation I was trying to install in the attic, replacing useless and dirty fiberglass insulation that also inhibits attic access for various trade workers. Broward Insulation was needed to complete a job that Therma Pro, another foam installation company, had failed to accomplish on 3 tries with broken equipment twice and workers that decided to go home for personal matters on the 3rd try. SES was the foam insulation product of choice for me due to better fire retarding qualities of their foam than other products and highest quality factory service. Their SES technical representative for Florida was informed of the problems with Therma Pro. He came to the job site twice to assess the problems, tried to educate Therma Pro workers and eventually recommended that Broward Insulation come to the job to accomplished foam insulating correctly. He is the best factory rep I have encountered in 45 years of working highly technical construction and industrial jobs. SES foam is my foam product of choice, recommended now to multiple building engineers. Last week I was the second homeowner rescue from poor performing insulation companies by Broward Insulation. Broward Insulation brought impeccable personnel, equipment and expertise to the job site. Jeramiah was on site and straightened out technical and engineering issues multiple other foam installation companies could not solve or would not solve for three years of effort to accomplish this task. The job accomplished was far superior to any other foam insulation job I have seen in residential or in commercial buildings where I work often. The Broward Insulation personnel on the job were the most professional people I have had on any construction job for all work being accomplished since arriving in Florida in 1999, including construction of a large Miami Beach condominium and multiple residential house rebuilds in Illinois and a reinsulation project in Florida. Broward insulation employees were far far superior to the workers from two other well known air conditioning companies that have been on site in Palm Beach County, about 8 air conditioning vendors at the Miami Beach condominium project, two foam insulation companies in Palm Beach County that have been on site and multiple air conditioning company employees that I meet in air conditioning supply house locations. Broward Insulation also installs air conditioning equipment and ducts. Multiple well known air conditioning companies in Palm Beach County have been at this residence being rebuilt from bare walls to assess what equipment and ducting is proper when foam insulation is installed. All failed to get the equipment sizing correct to ensure that house humidity is controlled to low levels. All wanted to sell equipment far too big that would not operate long enough to remove humidity from the house. Jeramiah from Broward Insulation figured it out correctly and will be the vendor when we replace air conditioning soon. A significant cost of the foam insulation will be recovered when 2 large air conditioners are replaced with1 or 2 much smaller units that are far less costly to purchase and use only a fraction of the electricity of larger units required if foam insulation is not installed. The other well known vendors from Palm Beach County failed. All in all the foam insulation that Broward Insulation installed is paid for with the first air conditioning change and a short period of time of far less electrical use with foam installed. In but two days the differences in temperature inside the house are astonishing. Roof temperatures on both days was 115 degrees. Attic temperatures went from over 100 when fiberglass insualtion was installed to 78 degrees with foam insulation. The air conditioners seldom operated after teh foam was installed whereas before foam was installed the day before they ran most of the day. Broward Insulation is the only company I found that knows what they are doing on air conditioning and foam insualtion.

The owner's son, Jeremiah, came within a week, made the necessary ductwork replacement & repair, and blew in new insulation. Jeremiah explained that the insulation did not need to be installed over the garage, as that area is not heated or cooled, thereby saving additional expense. The work was done promptly and the work area was left immaculate. About a week after Jeremiah completed his work, my air handler in the attic started acting up. I called my HVAC service (a large tri county provider) with whom I have a service contract. The HVAC repairmen came in and replaced the air handler & compressor. Everything was fine after the installation until I started noticing insulation falling down behind my cold air return. I did not have this problem until the HVAC service replaced the air handler. Long story short, the HVAC service blamed the problem on Broward Insulation, even though I knew that was not the case. Jeremiah from Broward was kind enough to come out & fix the problem at no charge. My A/C cools beautifully & the savings on my electric bill are incredible. Broward Insulation is a local family owned business and there is a reason they have been in business for so many years.
Description of Work: A/C was not cooling properly. I knew there was very little insulation in the attic so I called Broward Insulation for an estimate. The owner came out within a couple of days, did a thorough inspection, and recommended replacement/rerouting of some old ductwork along with new blown insulation.

Jeremiah was great. He was polite and professional in all respects. They did fast work and cleaned up after themselves. I paid extra to have a storage platform installed over the insulation. It was not done to my liking and Jeremiah cam back to re-do it. It's still not what I wanted but Jeremiah did his best to satisfy me - without complaint. I appreciated that!

The number of bags for blown-in did not equate to the recommended number of bags the manufacturer says they should cover. But the depth was correct at 15" as what the manufacturer recommends. Service was friendly and very easy, took about 2hrs for them to finish, they arrived on time at 8.30am and called 20min before arriving. Small family company.
Description of Work: Added insulation to attic (2500sq ft) including garage space; House was built in '78 and still had original cellulouse insulation that was only 2" thick and no insulation on any of the knee walls. Broward Insulation blew in CertainTeed InsulSafe SP to about 15" depth. They also added in R-38 Batt insulation for the knee wall of our attic where the vaulted ceilings are located. Did very well, cleaned up after themselves and were very easy to work with.

The owner, Carleton, came to the house to give a quote and suggested a complete replacement of the duct system and addition of insulation. He opened the attic openings and left insulation that fell on the ground without cleaning up after himself. He explained that hed been in business over 40 years and would "do it right". I asked about the Florida Power and Light credit and he told me he doesn't participate anymore because FPL owed him over $80,000 that he was unable to collect. He also told me that anyone who participates in the program are crooks and he was more or less the only show in town. I requested a quote and saw he had a calculation based on square footage of my home and I notified him that a portion of the home was not air conditioned because it was a garage. He stated oh, the air will get there. The quote he gave me exactly states: replace the duct system with r-8 flex system, insulate entire attic up to r-38, move duct in kitchen, add air in master closet. What was still missing was a duct in the garage(as it was included in the cost and one in my laundry room. As the quote was about $5,000 I obviously got a second quote. The alternative quote had more details, including adding 5 returns for a similar price. I called back Carleton and asked him why he didn't include returns in his quote and he asked me "do you have kids?" Honestly, I have no idea why kids have an effect on my air conditioning system needs. I replied that the rooms would be used. He then sent me an additional quote adding 2 additional ducts and "several returns". I looked up why returns are needed and its pretty clear from the description that in order to have good air flow and cooling efficiency, returns are needed for the system as they take hot air out of closed rooms and put it back into the Ac system to be cooled. I then requested for additional info about the number of returns that would be offered in his proposal as I had a quote for 5 from an alternate supplier. The next day I received an email from Carleton stating that he didn't want to work with us as he had enough work. I sent back an email just requesting a quote that protected both him and me and received no response. I would venture to say that this lack of response when I was just asking for a bit more detail on a nearly $6000 quote in order to protect myself and know what I'm getting was unprofessional and showed a significant amount of arrogance.

Broward Insulation did a great job on my rental properties. They put in insulation and it was quick, easy, efficient, they cleaned up after themselves, were on time and I haven't had any complaints from the tenets. I had some difficulties with them on my home. I have a few turbines up in my attic because of dual washer and dryers in my home. I asked them not to disconnect the turbine and fans because it can ruin the motor to my dryers. They disconnected it anyways and it took 2 months to figure it out. It took me getting an electrician to come out to fix the turbine. I offered to do the duct work during the winter because of the heat but the owner insisted that they could do it. I asked that they vent the A/C back to my bedroom which was 150 feet but the worker/son ended up venting everything through to my closet. I asked them to redo it so that it would vent air into my closet as well as my bedroom and they said that it was too hot to get into the attic and would put a doughnut around it to do a small fix. It took some arguing with the owner/father to get it fixed but they eventually vented it. I'm still not sure if it is properly vented or if they fixed it with the doughnut but I plan on checking it once the temperature goes down but I am getting air to my bedroom properly. I would use them again on the rental properties but not on my home.

The company reps are, as reflected in Angie's List, very, very responsive to calls. I travel a lot, and weekends about the only time I have to take care of quotes and service work. Although they don't work on Sundays, they offered to come out on a Sunday afternoon to look at the job and provide a quote. Scheduling was easy and the company called in the am to tell me the crew was on the way and then the crew called to tell me a precise time of their arrival. The two man crew were polite and professional. During the work they kept the area tidy, and they cleaned up after the job was done.
Description of Work: Added blown in insulation to the attic of a 1600 sf home. Also added new vent covers around the entire circumference of the house's eaves. The insulation job took about 3 hours and the vent work took about 3-4 hours.

Very good. I received an estimate from the owner, who is very nice and friendly. After thinking about it for a while I made the order. They arrived roughly on time, calling me on their way to let me know. The work was done very fast, and in good quality. I did not have any leaks since then (almost a year), which was my main concern. The fans they installed are saving us money and energy, and I will use them again for insulation. The only drawback is their paperwork and back office which tend to take longer than expected. But overall is very good.

Great. This company is just A+ as far as I'm concerned from estimate to completion of work. They first installed the new ducts on the first day and blew in the insulation on the second. Since some areas were not accessible for the insulation, they coated the roof surfaces over those areas with a product that provides insulation with a small additional cost. Very good people!
