"Luckily for Florida, 2025 was a quiet year from a hurricane perspective and we did not have to use the hurricane shutters through the season. Two weeks ago, when we were heading out of town for Thanksgiving holiday, noticed a misalignment in one of the shutters preventing it from on the rail. I contacted the vendor via email and got immediate response. Repair assessment was scheduled for December 3rd after our arrival. Joel Batista called on us yesterday and identified the problem right away. Joel was back this afternoon with Lewis and solved the problem in a very thorough manner. He was very patient in explaining to me what the issue was and how he fixed it. Very pleasant person to work with. They carefully removed the patio pavers in about 12 different spots, drilled through the underlying slab, applied the expanding foam to fill in empty or weak pockets that had formed over time next to our pool, and then cleaned up and replaced the pavers so well that you cannot tell that any work had been done. VERY IMPRESSIVE!"

He came by the same day, gave us the bad (shower enclosure was beyond repair) and good news (he could replace it in two weeks). The quote he gave us was better than we expected. "Mostly I have good things to say about USAHI. During the Pandemic, we were still able to get the work done, safely, and with everyone wearing masks. I had 6 windows, 2 exterior doors, 1 sliding glass door and one garage door- all done in two days. What took the longest was waiting for the inspection. USAHI thought that my city was closed but after some investigation on my part (and after a month after the work was actually done) they were not. And I was worried that my permit would expire, which costs money to reinstate, not that I would have paid, but you would think they wouldn't want to pay it either.
