We also service and repair submersible pumps and any other repairs that go along with these types of wells. Recently, we have purchased a Geo-thermal Drilling Rig for Geo-thermal Wells. "Burkett and Sons Well Service is the epitome of integrity and quality. While on vacation in Mexico, I was informed by the person checking on our cats that we didn't have water on in our house. Burkett and Sons Well Service came to the rescue! This would've been the perfect opportunity for someone to take advantage of us as we had literally no idea what was going on since we were thousands of miles away. Stacy looked at our well and discovered the issue. We had a connection on a switch that needed some cleaning. He could've easily replaced the part and charged us more but instead he took the time to clean the connection and restore the water service. When we came back home at 2am, the last thing we would've wanted to deal with is not having water but thanks to Burkett and Sons Well Service, we were able to shower away the airport germs and relax without delay. "I cannot recommend this company. We called hydroscout out to our home to help with detecting a leak. I will say the technician that came out was very professional and thorough. Our leak was so small that its location could not be pinpointed so the technician recommended coming out again in a couple weeks. The main office / management scheduled a follow up session at my house for 2 weeks later, in fact I have a voicemail confirming the date. The morning of the scheduled follow-up appointment I called to verify I was still on the schedule. Much to my surprise my appointment had inexplicably been cancelled. This was a huge inconvenience as I shuffled my work week. Very disappointed in the poor management and customer service. Needless to say I am going with another reputable company in the area."

Another common question is, what pressure should your well tank be set at? The standard rule of thumb is to set your well tank’s pressure at 2 psi below the cut-on point of your pressure switch. So if your well is set up for a high cycle of 40/60 psi, your pressure should be set to 38 psi. If you use a low setting of 30/50 psi, you would set the pressure to 28 psi.

Although air in your water lines won’t affect the overall quality of your water, it will lead to problems with your well water system if not addressed. Over time, too much air in your water lines can create blockages in your pipes, cause insufficient water flow to your taps and appliances, loosen pipes, and potentially damage important components of your well including your well pump and pressure tank. 

Most well pump pressure switches have a factory setting of 30 to 50 PSI. There’s some flexibility with this if you’d like a lower or higher water pressure, but remember that it should sit 2 to 3 PSI above your well tank’s general pressure setting.

The inside of your pressure switch cover will usually indicate minimum and maximum settings—going below and above the numbers might damage your well pump.

Having a well means that a household’s water supply, including water that comes through faucets, showerheads, and appliances, is supplied through a private source rather than from a city. The well pulls fresh water from an underground water supply, such as an aquifer, and the well pump pushes the water from the well to your household.

Consider replacement if the pump is over 10 years old or has recurring, costly issues.
