This review is posted from google which the owner, Ryan, reported as abusive to give him 5/5 stars again. Service techs are very friendly and courteous. I recommend they go work for someone else. The manager Ryan is THE most unprofessional person I’ve probably ever dealt with. Just wait until you see the rebuttal he posts on my review. Here’s how he deals with his customers. Below is a Voicemail transcript from Ryan which he left with his consent to my phone number. Chris this is Ryan, we were in the middle of a conversation and again it sounds like the whole reason why ____ and your wife got into it Is because your wife got an insane attitude that she got with me. Your wife is the problem not me, not _____, not advantage. You guys are military, you think you're above everybody else and talk down to everybody I'm sorry you feel that way but that’s not how life works, everybody’s equal. You've paid for service you got the service. You want to write people bad* reviews go for it doesn't hurt my reputation one bit. I made my money I can retire tomorrow. My text reply: "Well your voicemail was perfect proof of how you treat your former customers and military. And contrary to your belief My wife and I don’t view ourselves above anyone else for any reason, especially since we are in the Military. To state that in your voicemail was quite ignorant. Also, to specifically attack my wife as the “problem” was quite ignorant. This has nothing to do with your technicians so don’t even make that mistake. This has to do with you, your poor taste in words towards my wife and your poor management skills. Good luck with your retirement. Do not contact us any more." His reply(again left with Ryan’s consent on my phone): "Well I have 3 multimillion company’s 15 rentals so I think my retirements looking very good" Stay away from this company. It’s not even worth the time it takes to dial the phone because of 1 person. Ryan's response: Customer leaves out the parts about his wife going off 3 weeks ago on the office manager as well with major verbal abustle because she didn’t send someone out at 7pm for free (false). Today she went off again because the dispatcher scheduled for tomorrow 10-2 with her home warranty (she never talked to the dispatcher I did). Demanding a manager and once on the phone she continues the verbal abuse said why do you need to come out again I want a new unit(false). I explain I have to come out to make a diagnostic for her home warranty. I was then told she was a very popular realtor and would use her network and their military connections to ruin me if I didn’t(false, a local realtor, never mentioned military, I did as a means of hoping he understands how unprofessional he is, see below in my response)…. I explained I don’t like to do business with people who make threats explained either I personally can come out with years of experience to look and the system or she can call her home warranty to request another vendor. Last technician told her the home was 2500 sq ft and needs a larger unit to cool properly but she didn’t like that answer because the home warranty will not pay for the new system if it’s changed for under sizing(not true, while not cooling properly could be due to having the 4 ton unit, the service request was for the leak that still had not been fixed that streams through our garage) She again continued the verbal abuse and then her husband text me some very unprofessional things that will be sent to his commanding officer in the military as well.(I have all the texts and voicemails from Ryan and none of what he is mentioning is the truth). My response to expected rebuttal: 14 Sep 21 My wife was hung up on and the individual manning the desk was being extremely rude to her. This actually happened again by Ryan. The "major verbal abuse" was not by any means directed to any individual nor was it even verbal abuse, it was frustration with the lack of professionalism and shotty answers he was giving us. Ryan, you even said the individual manning the desk was in the wrong and typically doesn't answer the phones. Don't lie and make it out to be our problem that you cannot do right in this situation. A manager was not demanded, a request was made to please have him call us when able. He actually mentioned he was with a customer and we waited for a call back, which he did. The only mention of either of us having been in the military was to the fact we have not dealt with someone so unprofessional in our 12 year of service. No new system was "demanded". We simply want our issues fixed. The blower unit is continually leaking water in our garage in 2-3 separate streams. In the last 3 times Advantage has been out it has not been fixed. We were told, "well it usually takes 5-6 visits to fully diagnose the problem". Ryan, if this system were in my attic continually draining water how would that make any sense? Thankfully it is in my garage. No threats were ever made... Ryan wants to take it personnel that we said negative reviews will be left due to his handling of the situation(s). And yes, once people truly know how you represent and conduct business, no one will want to use your company. Old republic, our home warranty provider is aware of all allegations regarding Ryan's conduct. No text messages were ever left in malice. After having requested to no longer contact me, Ryan couldn't stop texting me. My last text to him was this in regards to him having 3 multimillion companies and 15 rentals: "Great, good for you. I'm happy for you and your ability to retire. I can't and I'm just trying to get my AC fixed properly which will no longer happen through your company. Like I already mentioned, do not contact us anymore." Send those "very unprofessional" things to my commander because I'd love to see what you make up.

"Let’s tell everyone about how to called the office manager a smart @ss little b!txh when she told You max wasn’t young kid was a 30 year old with 7 year experience and the lady was also epa certificated technician who set ur sub cool and didn’t charge you anything for Freon. Tighten all ur connections. That’s why you were told we wouldn’t service your property and asked your home warranty to find u a different vendor because of your dirty mouth in the south we don’t treat women like that. No one called you stupid your 100% not telling the truth you were abusing the office and made inappropriate comments to the female technicians on site"

I have to give them one star, which, in my opinion, they don't deserve, in order to do this review. Absolutely among the worst people I have ever dealt with. If Ryan was working for me, he would have been fired a long time ago due to his being so unprofessional. He has a terrible attitude and, in my opinion, based on his dealing with me, has no understanding of how to deal with customers. I do not recommend this company to anyone due to his behavior and will never use them again. The family in my rental had been without AC for over a month due to an incorrectly ordered part, by either Choice warranty or Advantage. Both denied responsibility and blamed it on the other. The AC was finally installed and the installation was not done correctly, according to what the tenant, in their opinion, told me. The tenant said that when it was on cool it blew hot air, and when on heat, blew cold air. The tech who came over the next day and the tenant told me that he (Tech) said that it had been wired incorrectly. I called and got Ryan on the phone and asked what was wrong with the unit and was told by him that it was only a stopped up drain. The tenant said that was caused when the crew that installed the unit and buried the drain. Ryan got very upset, refused to answer my questions, and hung up on me when I asked if everything had been corrected. This man needs to attend anger management classes ASAP. He called me today and informed me that he was a multimillionaire and that his partner was an Attorney and if I didn't remove this post within 24 hours, he would have his partner sue me. I had my phone on speaker as I have hearing issues and my wife heard the entire conversation. I have stated nothing in this post that is not the truth. There was a $900.00 charge for service not covered which I asked him to send me a detailed list showing what the charges were for. He again refused, but did finally admit that it was his charge, not one tacked on by Choice Warranty, but still refuse to give me a breakdown on exactly what he did for the $900.00. As of 24 July he still has not provided me with a receipt for the $900.00 charge. He did tell me that only insane people kept asking questions when they knew they would be getting the same answer. There are several other negative reviews by other former customers on other different sites regarding this company and its Ryan. Read Them. I am a 75 year old Disabled Retired Veteran and have dealt with bullies like Ryan before, so I do not fear him or his threats to file a lawsuit. I believe in doing the right thing, and treating all people well, too bad that Ryan appears to not believe the same. I have pages of documents to back up everything I have posted. As of 26 July he has not provided me with a receipt for the $900.00 charge and what it was for.
Response from Advantage Refrigeration & Air Inc

"100% false statements customer got a system replacement through choice home warranty took weeks arguing with them over his non covered cost so his tenants waited for weeks. We replaced air handler and condenser. A new lineset and drain line wasn’t part of the replacement but we came back for free to dig up the drain line. We never touch the drain line or covered it up. Larry was very difficult to deal with didn’t wanna pay and always wanting to argue about everything. Office staff felt threatened by Larry and will not listen to anyone’s answers just talks over you on the phone. The review above is false and person making the post will be receiving a letter from my attorney for libel."

Our unit has been leaking for over 2 weeks, in the middle of the hottest part of the summer. Spence came out on the 27th, then again on the 29th. On the 29th, he mentioned a part had to be ordered so a photo was taken of the part number. The office then placed the order for the part on July 6th. We're understanding of the holiday in the middle of the week, however, there were three business days prior to the date the part was ordered. We have containers catching the water, which are emptied twice a day, as well as towels that are soaking up any water that the containers are not catching (more often than not, they're completely soaked). Turning the unit off when it reaches 90 degrees outside isn't something we can do as we work from home, have a handicapped resident and two large dogs. When calling about the ordered part, we're continuously told, "It'll be here today or tomorrow." We were told they would check on the part and call back; no call back happened. (During the phone call on July 12th, the office staff said they could not call to check the status of the part.) The technician came back out on July 10th, mentioned he would go out to Panama City (where he doesn't live), get the part and call first thing Tuesday morning. When mentioning this to the manager of the company I was told that would "definitely not happen," essentially saying I'm lying about what a service tech said in our home and that we are not going to argue over semantics. In the beginning of the conversation with the manager, I did mention that I am not trying to jump through hoops or go above anyone's (the office manager's) head. I am trying to get a timeline on when this on-going issue would be fixed. Towards the end of the conversation I was made out to be lying and arguing. Customer service isn't a priory of this office staff. A timeline of when an issue will be fixed will be unavailable to anyone with a part that needed to be ordered, as they are "at the mercy of their supplier" in Tallahassee. Update July 14: Due to my not calling and changing vendors myself (as suggested in comments and messages), the company has lied to the insurance company about the damage to the pan, therefore the claim has been denied. Additionally, the owner of the company sent me a private message, again insinuating I am a liar of the events that took place (this is commented below). He mentioned the part is in Oklahoma but when on the phone (and in comments) he said it was in Tallahassee or on the truck. Once the claim was denied it was suggested we call the office for a "retail" quote, knowing we're unhappy customers in the first place. I work with customers every day and I would never handle a situation like this in this way. Extremely unprofessional. If complaints are made and dealing with a home warranty service call, the company will lie about the situation and get the claim denied instead of following through with getting the job completed correctly. Instead of attempting to resolve the issue the company remains unprofessional and dishonest. Update July 25: The air conditioning pan was never cracked, although this company said it was and we got the run around. Instead, the coils needed cleaned to make the running stop. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE as the issue was never going to be resolved with a new pan, lying to a warranty company to get out of completing the job like a professional, arguing on Facebook instead of handling the issue with professionalism, and not actually knowing what the source of the issue was. Update October 3: Placed a BBB complaint after this experience; the case was closed due to no communication.
Response from Advantage Refrigeration & Air Inc

"This person has been spreading this untruth across the internet. She wants a refund on her copay with her home warranty because they declined her claim both for being dirty and having cracked pan. I reached out and talked to the customer and she is unreasonable."

Company was prompt in arrival, polite and did work as promised. Great quality work.   I would call this group "Old School", which is a good thing.  I will certainly use them again and would highly recommend this company.  Nice to see that there are still companies around that do it the right way.

I went terrible. I called Angie's list and they called once but would never return my calls after that one call. The service company did not call me until after 5pm five days later. I have ask for a refund from Angie's List but since I cannot get anywhere with them I am going to file a complaint with the local BBB and contest the charges. I would not use the HVAC company, or Angie's list again for that matter. It was a waist money. Buyer beware.

"I went back and researched this job. I have the email from angieslist where you purchased a tune up however your phone number wasn't listed. I emailed angielist for contact info and they replied with contact info 5 days later. Call me I can screen shot or forward you the emails and the work order with the missing info. I have no problem doing the work. Please call me angielist keeps that lead money you paid for your inspection. However I will honor it and give you a free service call. My voicemail has a office number , my personal cell, and an emergency line. We always call everyone back same day."

Although we decided to postpone installation of the new system, we have to say that we were very impressed with the owner's responsiveness and communication,  Furthermore, his technical knowledge and unwavering commitment to answer our questions was phenomenal.  He made two trips to the house to evaluate additional alternatives and provided multiple estimates to make sure we would have the information we needed to make an informed decision. We will definitely keep him in mind for future A/C work.   Thank you Ryan!
