"Great Company! Super Team! Totally awesome from start to finish. The quote that Sid gave me for my new impact windows was much lower than another company quoted. Sid was very knowledgable and courteous and made the initial visit very comfortable. Greg who measured and led the team of installers definitely knew what he was doing as there were no problems encountered during installation. Joel and Ali, who finished up the installer's team couldn't have been more meticulous with their work. Overall, everyone made the experience comfortable and a real pleasure. Anderson Installations truly strives to make sure the customer is happy with all of the aspects of new window installation. I definitely couldn't be happier with the finished product!"

"Tips Bookmarks Check-Ins Yelp Cash Back Events Order History Following Lists Reviews Date All Locations All Categories Show First to Review Homerite Windows And Doors Homerite Windows And Doors Building Supplies, Windows Installation, Hardware Stores 4801 Executive Park Ct Jacksonville, FL 32216 5.0 star rating 6/9/2017 First to Review Alex Blumenauer was an excellence salesman; covered all the detailed and was very easy to work with. The whole job took two days (9 windows and 1 sliding glass door) and the work crew led by Donnie Allison and Rick Allison called before they came each day, informed us of any changes or issues with their schedule, and cleaned up the whole work site after the job was completed. Once the job was completed Mr. Blumenauer came back over to review the work and ask if there were any issues. An excellence experience from start to finish and I would highly recommend Homerite to anyone needing window or door work"

"This is an update from a previous post ***UPDATED 7-13-24 After being contacted by the local manager, Kyle, he was able to resolve all the issues promptly and went over and above my expectations to get everything corrected. "I have a block house built in 1996. I recently starting researching ways to “harden” my home against Florida storms. I initially thought a window film application would be the best solution. As I investigated glass technology, I realized the newer glass designs are far superior. I contacted Ryan at Reece Builders. We discussed details. I have a large number of windows, so we did the project in a couple of stages. In every case, every aspect of the project was flawless. The measurement was absolutely spot on. The installers were excellent and gifted craftsmen. Every new window fit perfectly. Everything was done correctly the first time. There were no “re works” for any reason. I mentioned Ryan by name here, but every single member of the Reece team is an outstanding professional and a pleasure to work with. When I look the construction of the Reece window compared to the original builder-supplied window, there is simply no comparison. The Reece window looks and feels much more robust, solid, and very well made. I have two east facing windows left to replace, literally next week. In the morning I put my hand on the old builder windows, and it feels like a hot frying pan. I go to the double insulated gas-filled Reece windows and they are cool to the touch. Actually, the vinyl frame is mildly warm, but I would expect that especially this summer of relentless heat and clear skies. That is the only heat transfer compared to the entire surface area of the old window. This is a great product and an excellent company to work with. I would recommend them and would love to work another project with them. I wish I had more windows to replace!! Thanks Reece ! Thanks Angie !!"

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

The easiest way for DIYers to smooth the edges of cut glass is to use sandpaper. Wearing protective gloves, gently sand the sharp edges smooth using low-grit sandpaper and working up to high-grit sandpaper. You can also use a multitool with a rotating sandpaper cylinder to make quicker work of the project.

The average mirror has a lifespan of 10 to 15 years. After that, the coating begins to deteriorate, losing its reflective properties. Acrylic mirrors have a slightly shorter lifespan of seven to 10 years. Higher-quality acrylic sheets with UV-resistant properties have lifespans similar to those of your average mirror. By maintaining your mirrors and keeping them out of direct sunlight when not in use, you can extend their lifespan. Some mirrors can last for decades.

Recycled glass is a durable and sustainable countertop material that lends a unique look to any kitchen or bathroom. Whether or not it’s the right choice for your home hinges on your design preferences and budget. However, for many, it’s an excellent option to make your kitchen stand out if you don’t want to go with an option like quartz or quartzite.

You can use a commercial water repellent treatment for glass on your shower doors to prevent water spots. Take care to only apply the product to glass. Letting air circulate also helps prevent water spots, as water is less likely to remain on the glass for a long time with good air circulation. Run your vent fan, open a window, and leave the shower door open for about half an hour after using the shower.

There are a couple of different mirrors that can make a small bathroom look bigger. If you need a functional mirror in the space, choose a frameless option instead of a mirror with thick or intricate framing. Heavy frames can make the space feel cluttered. Additionally, you can swap a large mirror with small frameless mirrors to create the illusion of more wall space.
