"

I asked Geoff to remodel the entire 1800sq ft. condo. it included tearing out and discarding all the flooring and two entire bathrooms. I chose a look-like-wood tile to be installed on all the floors and a cork cushioned synthetic for the 5 ft wide staircase to the second floor. Both bathrooms had custom made 35"h wooden cabinets with porcelain sinks, brushed nickel hardware and granite countertops, walk-in tiled showers with sliding clear glass enclosures,  mirrors, lights, and a comfort height stools. A soaking tub was placed in the master bath. In the kitchen, the cabinets were all repainted. Brushed nickel handles and knobs were added. A ceiling light was replaced with 4 canister lights and 2 pendant lights rewired in the pass-thru bar opening. A reverse osmosis water filtration system was installed under the kitchen sink. throughout the entire condo, the walls/ceilings were repainted with with eggshell sheen and all the trim and doors were repainted in semi gloss. New fans, hardware, and msc items were installed where needed. All of the light bulbs were replaced with "daylight" energy efficient ones. Geoff hired professional teams to complete each specialty item at the appropriate time and his site contract manager, Matt, made sure each job was completed to their high standards.  What impressed me the most was that all of this work was done as I was living in a different state.  I chose to work with Geoff because he really LISTENED to what I wanted done.  He and Matt both kept in contact with me and sent photos, when asked to make choices or just to show me how the teams were progressing. My concerns, questions, changes in detail, were all investigated before I was advised of their course of action.  Of course I had my daughter who lived nearby...stop in occasionally to check on what was happening too. Definitely call and make an appointment to discuss your "job" with him before you decide who to hire. He comes up with very good creative solving ideas and actually tries to save you money when possible.

"Awesome. They replaced a tile, fixed missing grout and cleaned all of the tile in our house. They made our tile look like it did 11 years ago when the house was built."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

While you shouldn’t use thinset mortar on its own as a floor leveler, it can work alongside other products to help level floors. For instance, you could start with a self-leveling compound, let that dry, then apply backer board with thinset mortar to help fully even out the floors ahead of laying tile.

Yes, even if you’re being careful, removing tile can damage your drywall to some degree. However, you can minimize the damage done to it by eliminating a majority of the grout and taking your time prying each tile off. Also, it's worth noting that you might have more drywall damages to deal with if your tile is set into the mortar.

Ideally, you should remove tile before installing hardwood floors, but there are good reasons not to. Removing stubborn tile can be a labor-intensive job that adds days to the project. The subfloor beneath the tiles could also be damaged during the process, meaning you’d have to repair the subfloor before installing the new hardwood floor.

Generally speaking, it is better to cut tile wet when using a fast-moving wet saw to reduce dust and chipping. However, tile can be cut dry when using just about any cutting tool. Dry cutting will result in a bigger mess and may increase the risk of chipping or cracking, but if you’re just making small cuts, dry cutting is a safe and viable option. Cutting dry also means you can apply tile grout sooner, so it’s better for rushed projects.

The number of boxes of tile you need depends entirely on the amount of tile in each box or case. Different manufacturers package their tiles differently, and boxes contain different amounts of tile depending on the size, shape, and material. Often, the amount of area that a case will cover is listed in the product description. To calculate the number of boxes you need, take the total square feet of the space and divide it by the number of square feet the box will cover.
