"We had an excellent experience with Marco and his crew. He was professional and very nice. He took care of cutting some of our trees, spread some mulch around our plants and some other work we needed done in our backyard. Overall he did a great job and handled everything with caution. We're very pleased with his work and highly recommend Marco Landscaping company."

Small jobs welcome

"I have to say I love this company. They have been my go to guys for all projects outside And inside my home for over 7 years. From weekly lawn maintenance, to adding a patio paver area. They once payed 18 yards of shell including removing the old mulch! They are excellent painters as well, interior and exterior. They recently painted the exterior window trim and my house looks brand new! Everything I can dream of they can do. I highly recommend Green Iguana"

"All American Lawncare & Landscaping completely transformed our front yard, and we couldn't be happier. What was bare dirt and a patchy lawn is now lush St. Augustine sod, beautiful palms, and a fully planted raised retaining wall bed with colorful plants and fresh mulch. The crew was professional, the work was done right, and the results speak for themselves. Highly recommend!"

"We had a newly planted crepe myrtle that was struggling. I called Andrew and he came over that same day to assess. He was very thorough and professional. The tree was sitting in water due to poor drainage so he lifted the root ball added mulch and new soil and helped me with a watering schedule and how to move forward. He also offered to call in a few weeks to make sure it was recovering. The price was very reasonable and I am happy with the results. I would highly recommend his services"

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

Yes, rotting leaves can be good for your soil. The decaying leaves release nutrients into the soil that can boost the health of your plants, and the organic matter also helps improve airflow and water drainage.

You can fill the holes weeds leave behind with soil or sand to avoid unsightly spots or tripping hazards. If you remove weeds from a grassy area, fill the hole with soil and grass seed, and water regularly to promote grass growth.

The depth of your decomposed granite depends on its intended use, but around 3 to 4 inches is the most common depth. Driveways that need to support a lot of weight should be at a depth of no less than 6 inches. Walkways that won’t see a lot of weight but lots of foot traffic should be built at a depth of 3 to 4 inches, and patios should also be between 3 and 4 inches deep.

Stump grindings are usually safe to use in soil, but in some cases, it’s not recommended. Wood chips in particular can bind nitrogen in the soil, which will make it difficult for grass to grow. That’s why it’s important to remove most wood chips and use healthy garden soil if you want to cover the stump spot with grass. Large wood chips may attract beetles and could encourage the growth of fungi when they decay, so you may want to remove them when using the grindings.

Mulching any time of year can be beneficial, so you can choose based on your preference. Most homeowners avoid the winter and summer because of the uncomfortable temperatures, so spring and fall are often best. Try not to mulch right before heavy rainfall or a big storm is expected, as wind and runoff can move newly laid mulch around and make more work for you.
