For thin driveway cracks that aren’t widening or lengthening, a polyurethane crack filler is usually the best way to seal the crack and prevent further damage from water and ice. If you have cracks that are more than ⅛-inch wide or driveway cracks that continue to grow, you should call in a professional driveway repair company to fix underlying problems—like insufficient support from the soil underneath—before filling in the cracks. An epoxy sealant is a better option for wider cracks after the surface is leveled and the underlying problem is fixed.

Concrete pools are very durable but can crack if not properly maintained. The most significant risk is winter weather and low temperatures when water can seep into crevices and freeze. To avoid damage, use the proper winterization chemicals, and don’t completely drain your pool. Concrete pool repairs cost around $75 per linear foot for small cracks.

Concrete spalling can be fairly serious, especially if left untreated or in a public area. It can be a tripping hazard and, if not resolved, can lead to structural instability.

If the cracks in your concrete patio are cosmetic, you can pour a concrete overlay over the patio to cover them up. However, you shouldn’t cover more severe cracks because the underlying damage will simply cause new cracks to appear in the overlay. If there is standing liquid on your concrete, remove it before attempting any of the above cleaning methods. For small amounts of water, use rags, a bucket, and a mop. For larger areas of liquid, lay down cat litter or baking soda to soak up the water first. If you have extremely large pools of water sitting on your concrete, break out the wet vac and get to work.
