"Best customer service! I submitted a request for quotes and Luminous called me with a few minutes and setup an appointment. They sent reminders and when the the electrician was on the way, they sent a text and an email with info about him and a picture of him. The electrician showed up early and provided a free estimate. After an hour, we decided to move forward with the planned work. He showed up in the afternoon and was able to remove the old under cabinet lighting and install the new lighting. Very professional and did a great job. Best customer service that I have had with a contracting company. Highly recommend Luminous Electric!!!"

"Voltrix Electric installed a ceiling fan for me. I checked them out on Angie which indicated they had a 5 star recommendation. After watching him work I can see why he has received 5 star ratings. He also did excellent work at our house. 5 stars for sure!"

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

In Pinellas Park, most residential generator installation projects are completed within 4 to 8 hours for standard setups. Portable generator connections usually take 2 to 4 hours, while whole-house standby units may require 6 to 8 hours. If your installation involves custom electrical work or new gas lines, expect the timeline to extend up to 1–2 days, especially during peak hurricane season.

Helpful?

In Pinellas Park, begin spring with a full generator test, oil change, and fuel inspection to prepare for hurricane season. Run weekly exercise checks and monitor air filters during the summer. After storms in the fall, inspect for salt buildup, storm damage, and electrical issues. Winter is ideal for deep cleaning and scheduling professional service. Keep a maintenance log and emergency supplies ready all year.

Helpful?

In Pinellas Park, it’s wise to schedule generator installation before hurricane season, ideally between March and May. If your neighborhood experiences frequent outages, you rely on medical equipment, or your home is surrounded by large trees or in a flood-prone zone, it’s time to act. Older electrical infrastructure and summer brownouts also signal the need for reliable backup power.

Helpful?

For generator installation in Pinellas Park, keep essential tools like a socket wrench set, screwdrivers, wire strippers, a torque wrench, and a digital multimeter. Stock up on air filters, synthetic oil, spark plugs, and fuel stabilizer to handle the humid, salty air. A battery tender, corrosion inhibitor spray, replacement fuel lines, and a weatherproof cover will help protect your generator year-round.

Helpful?

In Pinellas Park, watch for flickering transfer switch lights, intermittent power transfer, or a burning smell near electrical connections—these can indicate moisture or corrosion issues. Hard starting, visible rust, fuel leaks, or water in the tank are also warning signs. Unusual vibrations or overheating should be addressed quickly to prevent more extensive generator repairs and maintain safe operation.
