"2 or 3 cleaners come to do basic house cleaning about once a month. They work from the minute they arrive until they leave. Fast, thorough and professional. The office handles things like background checks, withholding, etc. so I don’t need to do that. The owner is very easy to communicate with and very accommodating related to scheduling. Great company."

"It went better than expected given my history with previous cleaning companies. They show up on time and went straight to work. I also need my garage organized, which is another service they provide. Let me just say, my garage has never looked so NEAT!! They did such an amazing job with my home, I've decided to have them clean my business. They did not disappoint. I have set up reoccurring services with them."

Garage Cleaning Services questions, answered by experts

One of the biggest disadvantages of glass garage doors is that they are not the best at insulating your garage. In the summer, heat can enter through the glass, while in the winter, heat can escape through the glass, increasing your electricity and gas bills as you crank up your HVAC unit. You can help mitigate the poorer insulation by investing in insulated glass and insulating your garage.

On average, a garage door can last between 15 and 30 years. However, this lifespan is influenced by several factors, including the quality and material of the door, local climate conditions, and how frequently it is used and maintained.

Key factors affecting longevity include:

  • Material: Wooden doors can last 20 to 30 years or more, while steel doors typically last 15 to 20 years. More robust options, like triple-layer steel, can last 25 to 30 years with proper care. The number of layers in a door also contributes to its durability, with each additional layer potentially adding five years to its life.

  • Maintenance: Regular inspections, cleaning, and immediate repairs can significantly extend the life of your garage door.

  • Usage and Climate: Doors in harsh climates or those used very frequently may wear out faster.

  • Components: Individual parts have different lifespans. For example, automatic openers may fail sooner than the door itself without regular maintenance, and garage door springs typically need replacement every 7 to 12 years.

While the door panels are designed to last as long as the door, they should be replaced sooner if they become visibly damaged, impact the door's smooth operation, or create a security risk.

Christmas lights and decorations are prone to heat and humidity damage, so keep this in mind if you store them in the garage. Put the lights in plastic bins with tight-fitting lids to keep moisture out to keep them safe until next year.

If you open your garage manually, you don’t need sensors. If you have an automatic garage door opener, sensors are required by law. The federal law UL 325 mandates that all residential garage door openers in the U.S. must include sensors. Designed to prevent accidents and reduce the risk of entrapment, the sensors should be able to reverse the motion of the garage door within two seconds of detecting an obstruction. The sensors are there to keep you, your family, and your belongings safe from a door that might otherwise come down too hard or too fast.

In addition to being less expensive, nylon garage door rollers are actually much quieter than steel rollers. However, many homeowners find that they wear out prematurely compared to steel. In general, more expensive steel rollers are more durable. However, their nosiness can make them less than ideal for garages that are located beneath a home's bedrooms.
